How much has the Republican party changed?...

Amazing then, isn’t it, that in this day and age when everybody has a cell phone that nobody recorded this on video.

Look how this statement uses coded language like “inner city” to mean black but the poster doesn’t have the courage to come out and say it. The busing remark is so deliciously* Brown v. Board*, too. The cowardice is so real. White folk so forgetful, Aricept should replace fluoride in the water. Does anyone remember white folks pushing out farm subsidies and a de facto nationalized flood insurance program? And your talking about inner city? LOL. Dude. White folks are the main beneficiaries of government programs - including Affirmative Action. White folks killed welfare in the 90’s. It’s like these hoes forgot: Could someone drop a Wikipedia link or, at the very least, give a brotha a few Aricept coupons for brotha to hand out? I’m not even gonna do a Kuchiyose no Jutsu on this one - not even worth the chakra.

To hell with the compromise of 1787. You’re glorifying the compromise that permitted slavery, so your reverence for the Constitution of old discredits you.

You need not say anything more.

Support for a government welfare program drops (among Trump supporters) when they are primed to think that the beneficiaries of the program are black. Trump supporters are more supportive of a program if they think it benefits whites, even if it is the same program.

This is a warning for personal insults. Do not call other posters cowards in this forum.

Which side disproportionately holds the creationist vote? Which side disproportionately holds the AGW-denialist vote? Which side holds up Fox News and Breitbart as their main news sources?

Look, part of this is demographics - in a country with a massive voting block of uneducated fundamentalist Christians, one side is going to have that block, and that side will, as a direct result, be the “stupid” side, because you can’t appeal to a bunch of extremely religious anti-science folk without alienating the “smart” side.

But there’s no denying that that is the current republican party. Your current president is arguably the most dishonest president ever; your policies are a fucking cruel joke best exemplified by the clusterfuck that was the ACA repeal; your morals have by and large been revealed as tissue-thin veneer by the massive number of hardline evangelicals willing to go to bat for a serial adulterer who paid a porn star hush money and who has dozens of people accusing him of sexual assault; your news is blatant propaganda whose only excuse is making up conspiracies about how everyone else is biased.

I’m assuming you’re referring to this 2008 story? Wow - hundreds of homeless people were able to exercise their right to vote, many for the first time. THE HORROR!

As others have pointed out, this is just nonsense. Those inner cities are the source of most of America’s tax money, as others have pointed out.

Not ignored, just not constantly pandered to. If 1% of the country is busy in agriculture, the agricultural vote should be worth…

…1%.

Of course, even this premise makes no fucking sense. The most obvious disparity in voting power is between California (where 40 million people share 2 senators) and Wyoming (where 570,000 people share 2 senators, and their votes for president count approximately 4 times as much). California has a farming industry literally 23 times the size of Wyoming’s. It also contains the main center of cultural and technological influence within the US, which might be a little more important than its farmland, but that’s neither here nor there.

So I dunno, should a vote in Wyoming be worth several times as much as a vote in California?

(No.)

“Is this the SDMB! Well, I’m your new conservative gadfly, hard-nosed and realistic, come here to talk some good ol’ common sense to you libtards and…wait, what’s this?”
“Application. Auditions are next week, you’re number…ah, twenty seven.”
“What’s this about a tutu! By God, I’m not gonna…”
“Its a joke. You failed, don’t bother.”

I never called the dude a coward. What I was saying that it was cowardly to use coded language. You may learn something by actually googling “coded language”. But, you know what, I understand. “No blacks allowed”. I’ll leave you guys to it. Thanks again.

A cursory search shows that others can outright call another poster a coward and it’s not a problem.

You should check this post to moderate.

There’s a shit ton more of that on the search engine. I would quote more but I have to go to work. It would be nice if everyone was treated equally on the SDMB. If you have rules, they should be consistently followed and applied. Using coded language to imply blacks are dumb, stupid, and violent. That’s OK, and the rules encourage this kind of coded language. But calling that statement cowardly for not using the actual words is a personal attack? lol. What a joke. White fragility at it’s finest.

If you would like to discuss moderation, ATMB is the appropriate place to do so. No more in this thread.

Can you explain this point? Are you suggesting that the homeless should be politically disenfranchised?

Yes, falling to pieces for a warning is the opposite of fragility. Righteously claim your victimhood.

I think he’s saying Democrats take advantage of the homeless by picking them up in buses every two years.

If that’s the case, then I assume he has some evidence for this claim? If not, it would seem that he is being misled (easily) and as he has already rejected the idea that conservatives are easily misled, we know he must have evidence. So either he is making a factually incorrect claim, or he is arguing that the homeless should be politically disenfranchised (or he just thinks they shouldn’t go to the polls via bus, maybe he’s a unicyclist).

Count me in on the bewilderment that there’s something wrong with homeless people voting.

Out of curiosity, UltraVires, what’s your opinion on homeless people owning guns? Constutitionally protected right, or something we should stop?

This too is not appropriate for this forum. Knock it off. If you want to take potshots at other posters, the Pit is right around the corner.
