Hmm. About $1000/year for a 2013 Toyota Yaris. I’m the only driver, 40 and I get multiple line and clean driving record discounts through State Farm.
$105/mo or $1260 per year, Car & Motorcycle & Umbrella together.
Looking online, the cost of just my car, paid in a lump sum would be $878/yr.
The bike is $144/yr
This is true. My husband and I have a low deductible on our policy.
Mine is $1040 a year for a 2013 Hyundai and a 1999 Saturn.
Through a series of unfortunate events, most of which not my fault, I’ve made quite a few claims through Geico in the last couple of years. I’ve found their service to be outstanding.
Also, I live in San Jose. I insure 2 cars, a 2007 Prius and a 98 Honda civic for (wait for it…) about $950 a year. That’s full coverage.
J.
Depends on which deductible you’re talking about. I never remember all the names, but a few years ago I changed the deductible on the one that covers broken windows from $500 to $50 and my monthly premiums went up by something like two or three dollars. Well worth it, considering the $500 premium meant the new windshield came out of my pocket and it’s my understanding that making a claim on something like that won’t change my rates.
$2,100 for PLPD (basic insurance) on two older vans. One traffic ticket (speeding) in the last 20-some years and zero claims. I’m in Michigan and we have no fault insurance and have incredibly high rates. The highest in the country, I think.
$1400/yr for full coverage on two German luxury cars between 3 and 8 years old, in Southern California. We’ve had a couple of claims, but they did not increase the premium. No tickets. Two adult drivers (no children). We keep the deductible pretty high because claims are infrequent and we can afford to pay it if we have to.
About $970/year liability only, for a 1995 Maxima hooptie. Single 58 yo female, central NJ…I don’t remember what my deductable is.
Yep. My deductible is $250, but my premium would be significantly less if I upped that to $1000 - but I know I could come up with the $250 fairly easily, while $1000 would be more difficult for me.
Also, because I forgot this earlier: Atlanta, with a short commute.
$1140/year.
This covers:
2 adults with spotless driving records
1 1989 Jeep Wrangler (basic coverage)
1 2001 Ford Focus (basic coverage)
1 2008 Hyundai Accent (full coverage because it has a loan for another 2 months)
In addition to the basic and full coverage, we have an additional $20k coverage on each car/person in case we get into an accident with someone without insurance.
We live in Worcester County MA but in a town of about 20k and we have off street/garage parking.
$720 a year with USAA on a 2014 Toyota Corolla S with awesome full coverage and a $500 deductible. They are also my homeowner’s insurance.
If you can get USAA insurance, I cannot recommend it enough.
With USAA I’m paying a total of $1200 a year for a 2010 Camry and 2012 Avalon.
Meaningless how? There are many more ways to tweak your policy that effect your rate. Your deductible is only one of them. I could have asked everyone to list their gender and age, marital status, where they live, credit score, profession, vehicle safety rating, vehicle size, age of the car, where the car is on the vehicle theft list, driving history, driving activity, deductible, type of coverage, payout ceiling of coverage, number of students at home… There are probably other factors they can consider that I can’t think of right now. Instead of all that I asked a simple question, how much are you paying?
Even given all the variables with individuals, taken as a whole certain states have much higher rates than others. I was interested to know what the price range is for those on this board. No poll here is ever going to be scientific so your complaint is pretty meaningless too. Might as well complain about every poll thread.
In the UK, £218 (366 USD) for a BMW 120d. I think the insurance is cheaper here since it doesn’t have to cover medical costs.
About $1000 a year from State Farm, 2 cars. Rates definitely vary depending on different aspects.
DC suburbs, 3 cars, 2 adults and a 24 year old son. Something like $4400 a year for all three. That is with various small savings like bundled rate (with homeowners), antilock breaks, etc.
I have the bare-minimum liability insurance required by my state law. Through Geico, I’m paying about $348/year.
ETA: One car, I’m unmarried/no children, so am the only driver of that car. And I live in a smallish town with a ridiculously short commute.
full coverage for my wife and myself, through state farm, no points for either of us. Both 31 years old.
2003 G35: ~1000/yr
2001 allroad: ~900/yr
2002 TT: ~700/yr
back when I had my 92 miata, it was around $300/yr for full coverage. Regret selling it now.
Minneapolis. $660 yearly on my 2001 Ford Focus. Liability and comp only.
