jz78817 This is the second note I’ve given you about using a rude tone and being borderline insulting. Find a way to post in an appropriate way or you will be warned.
Chefguy Cool it, too. Take it to the Pit if you need to respond in kind.
I seem to have lost 15 pounds in about a month, partially due to being too sick to eat more than soup for a week.
I want to lose another 3lbs by my weigh-in on Wednesday. I quit drinking but that is it. It’s been almost two weeks, and in ten days I lost 3lbs. I need to step up with exercise and watching my calorie intake. I have been eating pretty healthy, but lazy and snacking. I am someone who needs to see results or I get discouraged. I need to start moving!
What a difference a week makes. I am down 14 with six to go.
Of course the last four days have been nothing but a shit show, I do not recommend this as a weightloss regimen. At all.
Happy thanksgiving!
I’m only down about a pound, not the 15 I’d hoped for, DANGED hashi’s!
I’m going to stick with what I’ve been doing, though, and keep tracking what I eat. Congrats to all the big losers! Y’all’ve done very well!
I’m away from my scale, but before I left town, I was down two pounds more than my goal, so I’m off the diet today! Woot!
I actually gained two pounds (well, 1.6) in the last 10 days. Today is a free-for-all, then back on the wagon. Christmas isn’t nearly the gluttonous gorgefest Thanksgiving is at my house, but New Year’s Day tends to be a salty, fatty, snack filled day. Then it’s nose to the grindstone until at least my birthday in March.
I’ve lost the easy weight. Now it gets hard.
OK, many months later but I have now lost 30 lbs. I made it through the holiday season without gaining weight and actually lost a few pounds. So the life change is working but far slower than I hoped of course.
I have been pretty careful on my intake of food and I keep trying to be active and bring up my activity level.
I have to say 30 less pounds is good for my knees at very least.
Things didn’t go so well during the holidays, which can be expected, but I still only gained back three pounds. It’s really tough getting back on the program, so I’m plateaued at my present weight.
May I suggest updates fit better in this ongoing thread? http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=779816
As of today, I am down 45 lbs. I’m switching to a far cheaper Blood Pressure med that works out to a lower dose and all my numbers look good. Cholesterol was down to 185! Cutting back on Vitamin D to every other day.
The life style change is working, as I am bad at exercise but good at throwing myself into projects like cleaning and fixing things up, I’m doing better and my house and yard has had some deep cleaning. Recent examples are my back patio is gleaming again after a really major bleach scrubbing job I did Friday and Saturday. Trees are trimmed, house and garage are de-cluttering and reorganized.
I do ensure I get some walking in, even if it meant going to a store as the weather was crappy. I am mainly relying on sensible portion control and increased activity. I am also staying away from ice-cream and deserts and a certain all you can eat rib place which is awesome.
