How Much Weight Are You Going To Lose By Thanksgiving?

I have 17 lbs. total I want to lose but I would be happy to lose ten by Thanksgiving.

5 lbs.

My reason: I waffle between 130 lbs. and 140 lbs. Typically I’m 130 in the summer and 140 in the winter, but if I let my eating habits slip (like I did last fall) I can get up to 140 sooner, and if I really work at it (like two years ago), I can keep my weight at 130 all winter.

My current weight is 135, so I think aiming to lose half a pound a week is reasonable and doable.

I’ve not got a lot of padding to worry about (thank God for good genetics), but I usually try to drop 5 lbs before the holidays so I can indulge in big dinners and baked goodies and not have to buy new clothes in January.

I’m already down about 12 pounds, but a decent percentage of that may be due to a nasty GI ailment that made me unable to keep anything down for about three days. Still, 12 pounds!

I’m down about 15 lbs since May. I’d like to lose another 10. So I should lose 20 lbs by Thanksgiving to make up for the 10 lbs I’ll probably gain right after.

Most people don’t lose weight by Thanksgiving. They lose weight by diet and/or exercise. Then they gain weight by Thanksgiving.

I’ve stalled, 24 pounds so far.

Today I hit the 200 mark, which means I’ve lost 38 pounds since June 1st, so my projection above was way off the mark. We had a few weeks of not tracking our point intake. While we didn’t go hog wild, we also just maintained within a couple of pounds at wherever we were. Got back to business this past week, and dropped three pounds to my current weight.

I should be below 200 by Thanksgiving, then have to weather the holidays storm of rich food. Part of reaching this goal was to then get back into the gym, so we signed up at a small local place. One of the downsides of losing weight at this age is that your skin is no longer as elastic, so you end up with the wobbles. Something for you all to look forward to. :stuck_out_tongue:

Got my 15 lbs! If I could lose 2 more in the next 10 days I’d be at 233. Then 8 over the next six weeks until New Years (probably over optimistic, I know) would put me at my college weight of 225.

Maybe 5-7 more after that and it’s maintenance mode!

As a side note, I’ve dropped six inches in pant size, and bought some 38 waist pants today, along with some size ‘L’ shirts, down from ‘XXL’.

This didn’t happen. If diligent, I might end up losing a total of 8 more pounds since this post (September 7) by Thanksgiving.

I hit a big plateau for about 3 weeks, and then started losing again. I’m not too worried, I’m in this for the long haul.

I hit 126.6 last Friday, so I only have 1.6 more to go for my first goal. I was even able to fit into an old favorite pair of jeans on Sunday, but they were a little snug, so I’ll reset my goal down a couple more pounds to 123. I should be able to be there by Christmas.

Glad to hear others are having success. I feel so much better without that damn weight.

I’m down 7 since this thread was started, and down 16 since August 3. 13 more to go, more than halfway there!

I’ve lost seven pounds since this thread started, two more than I committed to, due primarily to the fact that I moved my household to a new town 85 miles away. Packing and unpacking years of stuff from one two-story house to another will do that. I’ve lost 22 pounds since January 1st.

I don’t know or care. at my highest I was 225. I got down to 150 and I was still a flabby piece of shit.

don’t turn this into a competition. it’ll just end badly. bragging about how much weight you lost is just a sociopathic way to make other people feel like shit about themselves.

It’s actually only a competition between each person and his or her self. These threads have typically been very supportive and not sociopathic at all.

I screwed my back up and stalled on my weight loss and in fact regained a few pounds already. My back is doing better and I need to get back to exercising.

I find it motivating to read about the success that others are having.

Well, on September 9th when I wrote that I weight 99.8 kg, and today I’m 101.1 kg, so I’m apparently not achieving my goal.

On the other hand I’d been eating carbs and drinking beer again, so I’m back on the keto bandwagon since having returned from Thailand. I guess my revised goal is 11.2 kg by Christmas (it’s achievable, as a lot of that’s going to be stored water initially).

Then why are you here, shitting in a thread that you think is garbage? Did you read the thread title or the OP? Go shit somewhere else.
