If it was made in the same volume as a Chevy Malibu?
I recently saw an ad for the Maserati-$79,000 . It is a beautiful car…mostly hand built. I don’t know what volume of cars they make, but if the factory were like the one used to make the Chevy Malibu (about $25,000), could you make a Maserati for less than $40,000? These low volume luxury cars are expensive, partly because the low production volume doesn’t allow the costs to be spread over a large number of cars.
Could a car like this be made, cheaply, in high volumes?
