I remember one of the questions that said something like “I am basically no better or worse than anybody else” vs “I am a special person.” I picked “special,” even though I fully believe that, in some sense, both are true, not just of me but of lots of people. But I am better than the average person at some things, and on some scales—and worse at others.
Me too - well, I got 17, but I’m not really sure I’m that narcissistic. I got a high score for exhibitionism, and I tend to be self-sufficient. I’ll admit I like attention, but for most of the other categories I got a low-average score.
Sorry my friend. Without the overwelming confidence in yourself and your abilities, the money, power and babes will go to those people who don’t hesitate, aren’t afraid to take chances and are willing to go after what they want.
Here’s the thing. I’m basically a shy, introverted person who also loves to get out on a stage and have everyone look and listen to me. Hence the vanity and exhibitionism scores. This, I believe, is a common mix of traits for many actors and other performers.
Once I lose another 100 lbs I’ll score higher on the vanity. I guess I’m screwed up but its not really a surprise. As soon as I started reading the questions I was pretty sure where I would land.
Here’s how you rated on the seven component traits of narcissism:
Narcissistic Trait Strength of Trait
Authority: 8.00
Self-Sufficiency: 6.00
Superiority: 5.00
Exhibitionism: 6.00
Exploitativeness: 5.00
Vanity: 3.00
Entitlement: 6.00
I may not have answered every question exactly the way that I feel, though. I MAY have tried to get the highest score possible.
