It keeps going lower and lower. It reached a new low today, when he said nobody is protesting his policy in airport demonstrations, implying that he is adored by his subjects who by consensus approve of all that he does. He is in pathological denial.
He’s a monster, a literal human monster. There isn’t any number high enough.
I’ve got to agree with this. Trump as a man is a cad and a bounder, but as POTUS he’s done nothing significant so far.
He’s making me facepalm on a regular basis. But he hasn’t had the gall (or time?) to do anything truly worth of outrage to me. It’s more “what an idiot” than “what a monster”.
I’m more disgusted by him and appalled at how poorly he understands his job.
No, I don’t think so. Mostly because Obama was a smart and skilled politician who would have vetted his plan properly with people at the Depts. of Justice and State rather than imposing it in such a heavy handed manner. If Trump hadn’t blocked permanent residents and those with green cards this might have actually not turned into the big deal it is turning into.
I doubt Bush, Romney or most other Republicans would have gone about something like this in such a clumsy and stupid fashion. These people really have no grasp on how government works. That they are actually this ignorant about the process is what I find most appalling.
I think they’re taking it up to eleven.
He just banned all immigrants from several countries, in an attempt to create a Muslim ban on the United States. He halted the refugee program. He’s withdrawn all funding from any program that even discusses abortion. He’s even fucking ordered the Mexico wall to be built.
He’s literally doing the very horrible things he promised he would do, and you say he’s done nothing significant?
I mean, protests of those first two are being held by companies all over. Fucking Google set up a refugee program. Canada now has protests at the embassies. He just had to fire someone who refused to follow his illegal orders.
How in the world can you claim he’s not done anything significant?!
This is why am depressed, angry, and scared. People still make excuses, no matter how horrible the things he’s done.
Well, he just sacked acting Attorney General Sally Yates (whom he had asked to stay on the job during the transition) for standing against his travel / immigration ban, and ordering the Justice Department to not defend that executive order.
The last time something like this happened, it was Richard Nixon forcing AG Elliot Richardson to resign, since he would not fire Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox, in what became known as the Saturday Night Massacre.
And, in the same evening, he also fired Daniel Ragsdale, the acting head of ICE.
I think tonight counts as “something significant.”
I had a mental breakdown after the election and had to go on antipsychotic medication. I’m barely starting to recover, if going from “weeping wreck” to “despairing apathy” counts as recovery. I HATE HATE HATE HATE THAT LYING SACK OF INFECTED COW FECES &^$ING ATTENTION WHORE DIE DIE DIE DIE!!!
So what? Banning immigrants is nothing new. You might recall previous presidential orders by Obama, Bush, and Clinton, and no doubt others before. You might also recall the ceasing of mass immigration post WW1.
Funnily enough, the ban also encompasses Christians, Zoroastrians, Judaists, etc - you know, people who are not Muslim - from those countries. He has also not barred Muslims from other countries.
5 (7 if you had put it in terms of job performance versus personal feelings. I saved 8 since I can imagine worse. :p)
I don’t do outrage very often or very well. Even a full Godwin permanent suspension of the Constitution that motivated me to violently resist probably wouldn’t cause more than a brief spike to 6-7 before dropping to 5 if we’re talking about outrage.
I was under the impression that there was minority religion exemption in the EO.
Googling “trump ban minority religion exemption”.
Lots of hits including Breitbart and Fox News.
So, nope.
As I understand it the ban is total for the initial period. Only after that will priority be given to members of minority religions.
Calling it now: President Bannon has a fake terror attack up his sleeve.
Oh, that would not surprise me at all.
I was thinking San Francisco, because gays, but now I’m thinking Baltimore, because uppity blacks.
Same here. I fear I’ll be longing for when the TSA and the Patriot Act were the peak of fascism.
I would not at all be surprised if a fake or ‘alternative fact’ terror attack is used as another reason for pre-emptive war against the evil country du jour. I’m predicting that Trump goes right to a nuke attack against a remote part of that country as a ‘shot across the bow’ demonstration of power.
I had to pick 8 because it isn’t really “outrage,” or not just outrage. He’s terrifying. Trump is an existential threat to American democracy and the Western, democratic way of life.

Bannon might hate black people but Trump doesn’t, and wouldn’t sign off on an attack on account of someone’s race. Trump’s an equal opportunity sociopath. If there is to be a Reichstag moment it’ll be something symbolically meaningful. not just some random neighborhood.
Fair enough, what do you think the odds are Trump starts wearing some kind of uniform?
I voted 7, I’d vote 8, but then I wouldn’t have anyplace to go when he comes up with an even worse idea next week.
