How o I End a Skype Chat (Need Answer Fast)

I am trying to learn Skype. Someone from Ghana is chatting with me for some reason. There is no obvious way to hang up. I am using a desktop

I signed out of Skype on the desktop. Now my (closed) iPad is beeping at me. How do I lose this person?

on mine, in the upper left just to the right of my name are three dots. …
Clicking on those gives me the option to ‘Sign out’.
Will that help?

Yes. I signed out. But then my iPad made Skype noises. I feel a sense of being intruded upon.

When I sign back on will this mysterious person still be there?

It seems odd there is no big “hang up” button.

Is this a text chat? It’s like texting on a phone–it doesn’t start or end. There is no “hang up” on a text chat.

If it’s a video or audio chat, then there is an obvious hang-up button, so I’m guessing that’s not what you’re talking about.

If this is an unwanted chat you can block the person.

If you just want to not chat anymore (with anybody), you can sign out as mentioned above.

I am texting. Should I just ignore this person manually? The system asked me if I was willing to chat. Foolishly I said yes.

How do I block this person?

I see on my Skype video screen a red dot, lower right, that is an icon of a phone receiver. That’s the hang up button.

Were you video calling or using their chat function?

You can also block their profile, so they can’t contact you.

Text chatting has no hang up- it’s just like any other chat. Click their profile, scroll down, and you’ll the option to block them.

I was text chatting. There was no obvious way to hang up so I quit the app and fled the room.

I have now restarted the app and found the “privacy” tab. I have set it so I will not be visible to searching for … whatever. Still, no sign on how to bock people.

Find the person you were chatting with. Click their name/number. Their profile pops up. Scroll to the very bottom and Block will be there, in red.

Instead of replying like yourself read off the latest posts from Kanye West’s twitter account.

Yes, she just sent me a picture of an attractive lady. It is some sort of scam.

OK, how do I get to her profile?

Bingo! I found it! She is blocked.
Thank you all.

Was the person actually chasing you, outside your computer?

For some reason random strangers who try to contact me on Skype (and on Facebook) always seem to be attractive young ladies. It must be my profile photos. They are evidently Wilford Brimley fans.

If I don’t recognize someone I just block them.

Thank you all.
