I’m especially curious as to whether you eat pork more/less often than other meats like chicken and beef.
last option for me.
I like pork but eat it a bit less than other meats. More than lamb, less than beef.
It’s pretty equal for me. I eat it a bit more than beef, but less than chicken.
If we’re including pork sausage, then pretty much every time I make spaghetti sauce. Also pulled pork a couple times a year. And bacon 3-4 times a week.
I eat beef most often, pork maybe once or twice a week, chicken maybe once or twice a month. I didn’t count bacon though, that would bring it up equal to beef.
Bacon, sausage - we have that weekly, usually. Spareribs, pulled pork in bbq sauce, on occasion. We find pork chops and roasts come out dry and tasteless, try as we might to cook them properly, they just don’t raise pigs with fat any more. A shame. Pork is cheaper than chicken, sometimes, here.
I never purchase pork (loin, chops, bacon, etc.) to cook at home, and never order it as an entree on the rare occasion I eat out (I cook 90% of my meals).
If something comes with bacon (hamburger, salad), I don’t mind. But I never eat bacon on its own. Nor any kind of breakfast sausage.
There are two small exceptions. I do eat hot dogs, brats, hot links, etc. And I do eat sweet & sour pork at Chinese restaurants (maybe 2-3 times/year).
I eat lots more chicken & fish, shellfish and even red meat than I do pig.
I am eating more pork than formerly - it’s cheaper than beef. So pork Bourgignon and other pork stews, ground pork in my chili, barbequed ribs, teriyaki pork chops, and so on.
It’s not exactly the same, but pork is pretty bland compared to beef, so the seasoning comes thru more.
It’s all good.

less often than chicken and turkey but quite a bit more than beef now that the prices are quite a bit different. At the same price I’d eat more beef than pork. Both would still come in behind poultry.
I actually find roast pork to be more flavorful than roast beef, but I eat them about equally.
Roast lamb is the best, though.
It is my preference. Pork in general in probably my single favorite type of animal flesh ( subsuming ham, bacon, pork shoulder and its derivatives like carnitas and chile verde, ribs, pork chops, pork sausage and all other things porky under one umbrella ). Haven’t tried long pork though. Yet ;).
Chicken probably comes in second, fighting with lamb. But I probably eat more beef than lamb.
The family farm raised pigs so we ate more pork than beef growing up and I have retained that habit. While I eat chicken or seafood more often than either beef or pork now, I still love a good pork chop or pork roast as well as ham, bacon, and sausage.
This poll was inspired by my mom’s volunteer work at a local food pantry. Many of the people who come seeking food refuse pork. This is baffling to my mother-- not so much on a “pork is awesome” basis, but on a “if I were needy enough to go to a food pantry, I wouldn’t be so picky” basis. And I always wonder what about bacon.
Poultry first, pork second, beef third. I don’t eat breakfast meats.
I don’t eat bacon, and rarely have sausage. But pork chops, pork roast, and pork ribs all figure into our regular menu rotation. I picked the second option.
Love pork chops, pork roasts, grilled pork, slow cooked pork, ham, sausage, and bacon.
It’s like it’s some kind of MAGIC ANIMAL.
I picked the Jewish option, but I’m actually ALSO a vegetarian.
I’m a bit cycled off at the moment. For the period over the last couple years when Beef was too damn expensive I was eating a lot of pork . Now that beef is reasonable again I am making up for lost time.
This is my answer as well.
Have you tried brining the pork before you cook it?
I’m probably on the line between option 1 and 2, but I chose 2. I like pork a lot, in fact I prefer pork tacos to all others (mmmm, al pastor), and I eat a lot of tacos. But I don’t eat tacos every day, so it probably evens out with the beef and chicken I eat.
