Meat!

Which type of meat do you eat the most of?

Pork. I’m a pig girl.

Probably chicken, although beef and pork are right in the running.

We’ve been trying to cut back on the meat consumption around Casa Silenus. Meatless Monday is now a tradition, and during the summer we toss in a couple of other days dedicated to salads and vegetarian dishes. Then we’ll head out every couple of weeks and eat a cow.

I eat a lot of chicken, because it’s the easiest on my surgically altered digestive tract.

I voted something else but it’s really a dead even tie for first between beef, chicken and pork. There are no meatless days in this house, hubby is enamoured with his big green egg and it gets a regular workout 5-6 days a week.

Tonight however it’s bison for dinner.

I voted pork, but it’s probably evenly split between pork and chicken. Beef I eat commonly, too, but a bit less than pork and chicken.

I eat chicken pretty much every day. Aside from bacon on the weekend and the occasional cheeseburger from wherever, beef and pork are pretty rare. I like fish and would like to eat it more, but I just never seem to think of it when I’m at the store.

Pork, chicken and beef equally. I voted pork since there are more varieties of it.

We live near a turkey farm, so we eat a shit-ton of turkey.

Fish comes in second, then likely beef.

Pork, with chicken in second place. I used to eat a lot of beef, but I’m trying to cut back my iron consumption.

Chicken by a wide margin.

I’m a little surprised by the predominance of Pork in this thread. We almost never never eat pork (not by my choice) so I guess I perceive it more as an outlier.

Chicken. Eating it right now, in fact.

Beef. It’s what I had for breakfast!

I voted chicken, but we sort of roam through the animal kingdom with a weekly slide through tofu. We raise guinea fowl and geese [and now we are down to one lonely runner duck - the eagles have been very rapacious this year] and we like to eat rabbit, bison, venison, horse, beef, pig in various forms [hubby and roomie more than me, I still have issues with it :(] all sorts of sealife except bivalves [I am allergic so we tend to avoid it so we don’t cross contaminate anything though our roomie will get stuff that doesn’t need to be cooked like tinned clams and such for out in her studio]

We had been planning on retiring to a much larger farm out in California, but then have changed our mind to changing to a houseboat for a few years until I get physically unable to manage, then we will move onto the farm in California. We will be able to have a lot wider range of water life on the boat to chow down upon. I am rather looking forward to that, I love playing with new foods!

Beef tops. Fish and shellfish are tied with pork for second place.

Chicken, beef. Beef, chicken.
Throw in some pork once in a while.
I’d really like to eat more fish but the rest of the family doesn’t like it.

I eat a lot of humaaa… chicken… a lot of chicken. Yep, do love that chicken.

It’s chickens, all the way down.

Sounds like a cartoon I saw a few months ago: a guy looking dismayed as his dinner date says “Mmm, tastes like children. Did I say children? I meant chicken! Mmm, yes, nice tender schoolchicken.”

Beef. Especially since this spring we went in on part of a whole cow with a couple of other people.
