How often do you eat these foods? (A Poll)

I’m curious about other people’s eating habits.

How often per day, per week, or per month do you eat -
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers
Pizza
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate)
Donuts
Those huge muffins
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)

(You can break it down by food and by occurence if you like - for example, I have cookies every day, but pizza once a month sort of thing).

I rarely eat cookies, muffins, or doughnuts but eat chocolate bars and fast food every couple weeks.

The rest is mutliple times weekly, probably.

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.: Virtually never

Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers: 1-2 a month

Pizza: a slice perhaps every other month

Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods: Never

Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate): 1-ish every 2 weeks-ish

Donuts: 1 a month, if that

Those huge muffins: Never, but I love them

Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.): Variable. Not frequent.

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - More than I should, but less than I used to. Let’s say a little (1-2 serving) bag every week or every other week.

Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - Never.

Pizza - Shouldn’t eat this as often as I do, but probably 1-2 times per month.

Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - If you mean really home-cooked, pretty much never. If it doesn’t have to be homemade, french fries snag me about once a month.

Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - Rarely, maybe every other month.

Donuts - Every other month at most, typically if someone brings some into work.

Those huge muffins - About as often as donuts, though they make some great low-fat apple muffins where I work, so I don’t feel quite as bad about those.

Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - Pretty much never.

Good lord. As I read each item in the OP’s list, it slowly dawned on me that my answer to all of them is “far, far too often.” OK, not so much donuts or chocolate bars. Krispy Kreme ruined donuts for me, and chocolate bars are generally too sweet–I can’t get more than two or three of those super-tiny “grab bag” ones (the ones that are an inch or two long) down without my teeth starting to hurt.

Still, though. I’m going to go pretend this thread never existed.

[ul][li]Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. Almost never[/li][li]Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers Almost never[/li][li]Pizza Maybe every couple of months[/li][li]Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods **Deep-fried, rarely. Bacon and eggs, every weekend or every other weekend (no oil, but there’s grease in the bacon – good for the cast iron). **[/li][li]Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) Hard to say. I’ll go months without eating any, and then weeks when I might have some. And it’s almost always dark chocolate, 72% or so.[/li][li]Donuts Almost never[/li][li]Those huge muffins Almost never[/li]Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) A couple or so bags a year[/ul]

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - if I buy 1 regular sized bag, I’d finish most of it in a month. I have been tossing half-eaten, stale bags lately.

Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - Hardly at all anymore. Can’t remember my last fast food burger.

Pizza - once or twice a week :frowning:

Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - Never.

Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - Candy bars? Hmm…rarely. A few a year? Never just a Hershey bar, I’m more of a Twix girl.

Donuts - Rarely. I haven’t had a real donut-shop donut in years. I’ll grab a pack of Hostess donuts from the gas station maybe 5 times a year.

Those huge muffins - Never

Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - I usually have some cookies in the house. Takes me about 2 weeks to eat a bag.

*Note that my answers don’t necessarily match my liking of those foods. If they were around my house, I’d eat them. Those things are just too expensive - I get more bang for my buck out of other foods.

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - Maybe a couple of times a month.

Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - A couple of times a year.

Pizza - On average maybe once a month (homemade) and a couple of times a year from the store.

**Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods ** - Deep fried maybe three times a year. I pan fry with oil at least two or three times a week.

**Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) ** - Very rarely in bar form. I’ll have homemade brownies or chocolate cake every month though.

Donuts - A couple of times a year.

Those huge muffins - I make banana muffins and blueberry muffins once a month (you have to fill the batter to the top to get a proper oversized muffin).

**Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) ** - Several times a year.

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - Probably once a month I buy a big bag and split it out for lunches or munch a handful at home, sometimes every couple months.

Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - Too often… can go from a couple times a week to once every other week depending on the week and what I’m doing (eg if I have school that night I have to stop somewhere and grab something or else I won’t get to eat at all between lunch and ten at night when I get home and there is not many options, even with the school food court/cafeteria).

Pizza - Every couple weeks, but I buy a grocery store pizza to toss in the oven (mm delissio with whole wheat crust…) or I make my own at home (Velociraptor looooves his pizza). Maybe every couple-three months I’ll order in as a treat.

Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - Deep fried? No, never do. Pan fried? thinks Not that often actually. I think most of the oil I use is in stir-fry and even then it’s not a lot, just enough to cook the meat. Sesame oil. I use butter to fry my fish, or onions. Not much oil actually.

Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - Once a month I’ll go on a binge for about a week, generally when I’m at work and the lunch truck comes. I need to start carrying a bar of dark chocolate to stave those off.

Donuts - Hard to say. I guess about once a month or every other month we’ll buy a box from Safeway, and rarely Tim Horton’s as a treat.

Those huge muffins - Never, we make our own at home. I can’t recall the last time I had one of those.

Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - Almost never. I don’t like a lot of storebought cookies (too sweet) and prefer to make my own but rarely I’ll buy a box of oreos or peak freens if I get a craving… and of course I’ll buy a box or two of the girl guide cookies, I prefer the Christmas ones.

I actually used to eat out a lot more, and eat a lot more junk but between the city and how the service is (not to mention my budget) and my son (who I try to set a good example for) I eat a lot better.

The only thing on that list that I eat is pizza. From Pizza Hut, thin crust, cheese only. I tend to go on binges with it. I’ll go half a year and never eat it, then get it once a week for like two months running. It’s a nice departure from my usual diet of avocados, brie, crackers and chicken breasts. Man, I so want some now.

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - Maybe once every two weeks or so I’ll have a snack-sized bag of Cheetos. Maybe.
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - Almost never.
Pizza - Maybe twice a month.
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - Never.
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - Never. I don’t like chocolate.
Donuts - One a weekend, if they have them in the coaches room at a tournament.
Those huge muffins - Never
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - Never. If they aren’t home-made by me, I don’t eat them. Period.
With all that, now I wonder how I got so fat. Oh…forgot about the beer. :smack:

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.
2 to 3 times per week
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers
once per week
Pizza
2 to 3 times per month
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods
never - I don’t cook much, and when I do, I don’t fry
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate)
once a week
Donuts
2 to 3 times per month
Those huge muffins
once per week
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)
2 to 3 times per week

You and me both. :frowning:

I should come clean about my own answers -
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - about a bag every two weeks. I’m also a handful at a time muncher. My husband is a “the biggest bag you can get is a single-serving size” potato chip eater, so I’ve started hiding them on him and parcelling them out to both of us. (This is okay with him.)

Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - about one every two weeks.

Pizza - about once every two weeks. It’s really not sitting well in my stomach as I age, though. I think it’ll go down to “never.”

Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - Finally! A never! I use Pam non-stick spray and squeeze the grease with paper towels out of anything I fry with it on top of that.

Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - very rarely. I’m on the high percentage dark chocolate now - about a bar of that every week other.

Donuts - depends on who’s buying. If they supply them at work, once a week. If I’m buying, once a year.

Those huge muffins - Almost never. Those things are frikkin’ huge!

Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - Once or twice a year. I make homemade, extra fibre cookies most of the time.

This has been enlightening. I appear to have some junk food habits, but none are really out of control.

How often per day, per week, or per month do you eat -

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.
Potato chips, once a month, without fail. (PMS.) Likely, it’s more often. (No willpower.)

Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers
Once or twice a month. I love cheeseburgers. I also love my homemade burgers.

Pizza
Maybe once every two months.

Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods
Rarely. I’ve never learned to deep fry, and pan-frying, I don’t use a lot of oil.

Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate)
Once or twice a month. Sometimes more, if there’s been a Costco run.

Donuts
Once a month or less often. And only if they show up in the office lunchroom. If they’re there, I’ll eat them, but I don’t purchase for myself.

Those huge muffins
Once every couple of months, if they show up again at the office. We’re quite ladylike, though, and cut them down the the middle vertically, and eat them one half at a time. Somehow they all get eaten, though.

Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)
Rarely. Don’t like 'em.

I’m a little distressed by how much of the stuff I’m not all that crazy about I do end up eating, anyway. If it’s there, I’ll eat it. Damn it. And I see no need to buy chocolate bars at Costco. That’s not helping matters.

By the way, I don’t know what’s up with the X box by the chocolate bars. My keyboard has been doing that lately. It’s not some kind of subliminal suggestion that we should all have a chocolate bar RIGHT NOW!!!

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - hardly ever
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - only when traveling (a few times a year)
Pizza - not often enough! (couple of times a year)
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - never
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - hardly ever (too bad you excluded pure dark chocolate, I eat way too much of that).
Donuts - hardly ever
Those huge muffins - never
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - well, I eat Trader Joe’s meringues

Good thing you didn’t mention coffee, pie, ice cream or cheese.

How often per day, per week, or per month do you eat -

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. 2-3 times a month
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgersonce a week (hamburgers only)
Pizza** every couple of weeks***
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods never
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate)** never (dark chocolate only)**
Donuts whenever somebody brings them to work**
Those huge muffins** never**
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)** Depends on what kind of cookies we’ve gotten to put in the kid’s lunch. If Oreos, daily, and good luck to the kid for getting any of them. If other than Oreos, never.**

*We have been getting a deal on pizza where each family member gets a medium. In those circumstances I have pizza for lunch for the next week in addition to what I eat that night. So maybe I should have said “daily.”
**But if nobody has brought in donuts in, say, two months, I will bring the donuts.

How often per day, per week, or per month do you eat -

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. I almost never buy these things because they’re not good for me but I do end up eating some maybe less than once a month at parties and such. I LOVE Cheetos and avoid them because I have no self-control. I haven’t had a Cheeto in months.

Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers I** don’t like battered chicken burgers and only eat a fast food burger if I really have to–traveling or with someone else.**

Pizza Rare

Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods **It’s a good thing nobody will cook for me that way–I love fried meats like pork chops and fried chicken but no one will cook them for me. ** :frowning:
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) dark chocolate peanut M&Ms are the devil. I love them. I try hard not to eat them every day.

Donuts Rare

Those huge muffins Love the orange pecan ones the little bakery up the street makes. Twice a week!

Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)** Rare**

Ask me how much Diet Pepsi I go through in a week! Ask me! A lot! A whole scary lot!

Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.: once a week maybe

Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers: it’s been a couple of years

Pizza: once a week

Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods: never, but mostly because I don’t know how to cook many things.

Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate): I might have a Hershey bar with almonds once a week, but that’s the only kind I’ll usually eat

Donuts: Yuck

Those huge muffins: I hate muffins

Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.): Sugar makes me flushed and tingly, so almost never

I don’t know whether it’s my age or if I"m just not used to junk food, but my body just can’t process it like it used to. Sugar makes me feel like crap but I could eat a whole can of peanuts or a bag of cheese in a day, so I eat as much fat as I like. I’m a bit underweight, and although I eat whatever I please, I rarely crave any sweets so I don’t eat them. Like anyone’s reading this far anyway.

How much Diet Pepsi do you go through in a week?

I go through about three or four 24 oz. Diet Cherry Pepsi bottles in a day, so that would equal about 42 to 56 12 ounce cans per week. Do you think you have me beaten?
