I have six empty cans on my desk right now and that’s only been in the past few hours. I could easily average a twelve pack a day if I were willing to actually pay that much per week.
I didn’t know quite how to describe these - a battered chicken burger would be like the Spicy Chicken burger at Wendy’s - the chicken has some kind of coating on it and is deep-fried (as far as I know), rather than just a naked chicken breast (which, frankly, sounds kind of dirty).
Chips - 3-4 servings a week
Fast food burgers - 1-2 times a week
Pizza - 1-2 times a week
Home Fried - 0-1 times a week
Chocolate Bars - A few on Easter, Christmas, Halloween
Doughnuts, Muffins, Cookies - Almost never
Potato chips - once every 1-2 months
Burgers - twice a week
Pizza - every couple of weeks.
Oily stuff (usually fried cottage cheese) - in three-day streaks once a month.
Other stuff - pretty much never.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.
A small bag once or twice a week
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers
Very rarely, we recently had burgers from McDonalds and worked out it was our second trip to McDonalds this year. Although we quite often make our own (much tastier) burgers at home.
Pizza
Once every three months
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods
Never, all my pans are non-stick so I rarely use oil.
Chocolate Bars (other than pure dark chocolate)
Once a month
Donuts
Once a year
Those huge muffins
Once every three months
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)
Probably once a fortnight, my husband loves Cadbury’s digestives and has a couple with his cup of tea every night after dinner, but I don’t often eat them.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.: Once a week if we have lunch at our favorite cafe – they come with a sandwich. But they’re the “healthy” veggie chips. Otherwise only if they’re out at a party or something, maybe once every month or two. We don’t keep them in the house. Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers: Maybe one regular cheeseburger a year, if that; I love McChickens but they’re a treat, so maybe one every three months. Pizza: We throw a Tombstone in the oven (Canadian bacon with pineapple added) maybe once every couple of months. Pizza-joint pizza maybe once or twice a year; we might hit Rocky Rococo for a slice and salad about as often. Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods: Never.
**Chocolate bars[/:b]Can’t remember the last time I ate one. It’s all dark chocolate in this house. (Sorry, something wonky going on in the reply box here; couldn’t fix the coding.) Donuts: Only those little round ones at the Chinese buffet. Otherwise I might be exposed to donuts once or twice a year. Those huge muffins: Might split one with Mr. S at a coffee shop two or three times a year. Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.): I love Pepperidge Farm Mint Brussels, but our local store hardly ever has them. They’re a comfort food; three or four bags (15 cookies each) a year? (Do commercial bakery-style cookies count? Our store’s bakery department carries a brand of cranberry walnut cookies that are Teh Nummy. At least a dozen a month, split between us.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - couple of times a month usually
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - almost never. I do eat fish&chips about once a week though, does that count?
Pizza - usually once a week
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - almost never
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - ** a couple a month**
Donuts - ** every two weeks **
Those huge muffins - ** 3-4 times a year **
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - every couple of weeeks
I’m curious about the selection principle behind the list. Is it simply “fattening” foods? Or “highly processed” foods (since cookies only count if you don’t make 'em yourself…)? Or just the first “not particularly good for you” things that came to mind?
And I need to know about the dark chocolate exemption too
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.
Maybe once or twice a year I may grab a handful from a bowl at a party.
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers
Once a month I guess but I haven’t had one for ages.
Pizza
Couple of times a year,
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods
Never deep fried and I only paint the pan with oil to fry anything.
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate)
Once in while when some cruel bastard is selling fund raising chocolates at work. Say every couple of months. Although we often pass around a bar at work and just have a square each.
Donuts
Never, they give me heartburn.
Those huge muffins
Never, not a fan.
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)
We do the same with packets of Tim Tams as we do with the chocolate. One each about once or twicw a week. Never have any at home.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - Never, unless I’m at a social event and they’re sitting out. Then I’ll grab a handful.
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - Once a week (but not from a chain. There are 3 independent burger places that I’ll go if I want a burger. Fast food chain burgers make me sick.)
Pizza - Once a week.
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - Once every two weeks…I have a weakness towards french fries and falafel. Sometimes I just need it.
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - Twice a year.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.: Potato chips or tortilla chips, probably once a week. I usually get the kind with the fake fat in them. I never eat Doritos or Cheetos.
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers: Three or four times a year.
Pizza: Once every other week or so. I LOVE pizza! Sometimes I buy it, sometimes I make my own.
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods: Three or four times a year
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate): Once a month
Donuts: I can’t remember the last time I had a donut. I do like them a lot though.
Those huge muffins: Never
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.): Once or twice a year
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. – never
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers – damn close to never – once or twice a year?
Pizza – once a month
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods – never
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) – dark chocolate, daily; other, maybe once a month
Donuts – couple of times a year
Those huge muffins – once every two months, maybe
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) – daily – but my current fave is chocolate animal crackers, which are relatively undepraved.
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - rarely
Pizza - probably once every two weeks
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - a lot, but I do it right (high heat, scant breading), and these things likely contain less fat than pizza, easily.
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - rarely
Donuts - rarely
Those huge muffins - almost never
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - maybe 1 or 2 once a week
