Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.–Rarely buy them. Sometimes at work
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers–Never. I’m a veggie
Pizza–Twice a month at least
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods–Only French Fries and Cheese Sticks, maybe twice a month
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate)–Twice a month
Donuts–Only at work
Those huge muffins–Twice a week
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)–Bakery twice a week.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - almost never, I don’t like chips much
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - two or three times a year
Pizza - once a month
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - once a month
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - Depends. If there is some in the office I probably have one or two a week. If there are none, I don’t buy them.
Donuts - yuck hate donuts
Those huge muffins - don’t like muffins much either
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - almost never, unless someone else buys them.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. --average once a week from the machine at work, once a week for dinner
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers --two or three times a week
Pizza --from delivery or frozen, ~three times a week
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods --not often, but buttery pasta once or twice a week
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) --a few per week
Donuts --a few times per week
Those huge muffins --not my first choice, so when they are around at work, sporadically
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) --couple times a week
I took it to mean the equivalent of a hamburger, IOW a greasy fried chicken sandwich rather than a non-breaded, grilled chicken sandwich which would be more healthful. Burger King Chicken sandwich; McDonald’s McChicken, crispy option.
I see. You know, it never really occurred to me to try anything on the menu at these places that wasn’t the main item. If I noticed that they were making burgers out of deep-fried chicken pieces, it sort of went in one eye and out the other. If they’re all greasy, there’s no point in getting into them. I already eat enough chicken that isn’t fried, for dinner.

I’d add in a category for non-home deep fried foods (french fries/chips, calamari, etc…) I end up eating those a couple of times a week at least.
I’d also add bacon, sausage, baked/broiled chicken, vegetables, salads, fish and steak to your list, if you want a better picture of what people eat.
I’d say I eat bacon once every couple of months, sausage of one kind or another a couple of times a month, baked/broiled/grilled chicken probably once a week, vegetables almost daily, salads about bi-weekly, fish about once every couple of months, and steaks about the same.
(I eat a lot of canned soup & healthy-choice type tv-dinners)
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - never. I’m not even sure I have oil in the cupboard…what do you know, I do (unopened though).
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - never
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers - almost never, but every once in a while I’ll have one. Probably about once a year. I do make my own hamburgers, but I use lean ground beef.
Pizza - never. Actually, not true. once per year on the way home from a camping trip. Pizza hut is the only restaurant visible from the highway.
Chocolate Bars - rarely, I’ll have a skor bar ever month or so
Almost never. None of those things can be bought here. I do make pizza (with my own home made cheese!) a couple times a month. And I do buy a can of Pringles in my regional capitol when I am there (at four bucks a can- ouch!), but that’s pretty much it.
However, I do eat deep fried savory donuts every day or so.
when hell freezes over in the sense you mean. I have a commercial frywell at home so I dont have the low temp home frying issue. I get a good solid fry first time around, not a boil in oil.
i only like dark semisweet chocolate, dont like milk chocolate at all
when hell freezes over. Not much of a sweet tooth
never
never
Diabetic with not much of a sweet tooth. I can however lick the salt out of the bottom of a pretzle bag=)
Here’s where I get to come out of the closet on my lousy eating habits and make 99% of Dopers feel better about their diet:
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.: Here I’m pretty good; we’ll average it out to once a month since it’s more of a “Cheetos? Must eat entire bag” thing. If I don’t buy them, I don’t eat them.
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers: Burgers at least once a week. (I don’t like chicken)
Pizza: Used to be weekly when I made it myself, then I found a great pizza place and it was weekly there, now they are closed and I haven’t started making my own again yet. We’ll still say weekly.
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods: Rarely, I don’t cook with oil at home much…I let others do that for me.
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate): several times a week, funsize Milky Ways being the standard bribe at my job.
Donuts: About once a month at work.
Those huge muffins: About once a month.
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.): Very rarely…people bring home-baked cookies and cakes to work and I eat those about twice a month.
Here’s where I can make you all feel superior: I eat approximately 6 large McDonald’s french fries a week. Two large fries is my preferred lunch, but I only work four days a week and I don’t get out to lunch everyday. It’s my addiction, and it’s a serious one.
I exempted pure dark chocolate because it has healthy benefits when eaten regularly in small quantities (something like a one inch square per day). I don’t think anything else on my list has much in the way of healthy benefits.
This wasn’t by any means an exhaustive list; just most of the common “guilty pleasures” I could think of. I did miss sausage/bacon on the list - that’s definitely one of my guilty pleasures.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc. - I’ll have some pretzels or something every day. Can’t get enough crunch.
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers. Wendys or Taco Bell are the only choices for lunch for fast food. Varies a lot depending on if I shop for lunch (I have a little refrigerator in my office).
Pizza 1-2 times a month.
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods - Never
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate) - Very rare
Donuts - rare. Might have one if some one brings them to work.
Those huge muffins - very rare
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.) - very rare. Don’t like cookies that much, much less store-bought ones.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.
Once or twice a year
Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers
Never
Pizza
We make it at home (homemade whole wheat crust, veggies for toppings, not much cheese etc.) once or twice a month. Commercially made pizza maybe 3x per year
Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods
The Superhero makes a dinner with hush puppies once or twice a year, and also makes a chicken parmagiana that starts in oil and then bakes in the oven. So I’ll say 4x per year.
Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate)
Maybe twice a year. We do eat a little dark chocolate almost every day.
Donuts
Almost never. Once/year?
Those huge muffins
Never
Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)
Maybe 3x/year. We make our own cookies in the fall and winter but don’t have them at all in the summer.
My diet has undergone a sea change of late, entirely in response to a shockingly painful and terrifying bout of constipation. So…
Regular ones? Almost never these days. I do eat black bean tortilla chips about 3-4 times a month, maybe more at times.
maybe once a month
Once every couple of months
Once every 2-3 months, depending on your pereption of “lots”. So with a stricter perception, I’ll say 1-2 times a week.
2-3 months
A weakness of mine, a favorite compulsive thing so long as I can get them late at night right after they’ve been made. Any donut older than 3-4 hours max isnt’ worth it. That said…2-3 months.
Potato Chips/Chip like Snacks- Maybe twice a month or less
Fast food hamburgers/Chicken- It comes and goes in fits and starts depending on how busy I am but in general I’d say it averages to about once a week
Pizza- About once a week, either frozen or take out
Deep Fried/Pan Fried with lots of oile foods- Dude, I’m southern. At least twice a week
Chocolate bars- Couple a month maybe
Donuts- Maybe once a month
Store bought cookies- Not quite once a week, more lately than usual… I blame it on my kids getting old enough for packed lunches.
Potato chips/Cheetos/Doritos etc.- A couple times per week, sadly. People always have this stuff sitting out at my job. Fast food hamburgers/battered chicken burgers- Once every couple of months. Pizza- Every friday night. Boyfriend and I have “Pizza and a movie night” on Fridays Deep-fried/pan-fried with lots of oil home-cooked foods- Well, I make home-cooked meals, but not deep fried or pan fried (maybe sauteed, tho) and I try not to use a lot of oil. Chocolate bars (other than pure dark chocolate)- I eat a couple squares from a dark choc bar every couple of days. Other choc bars: maybe once a year, if that Donuts- I try to never eat donuts, so maybe once every 2 years Those huge muffins- Twice a year Store-bought cookies (Oreos, etc.)- I don’t buy them, so maybe I would eat one if I were at a friend’s house or something, so: Once a year
Now, if you ask how often I eat tortilla chips/salsa/guacamole: At least once a week, and a lot of it! Tortilla chips/salsa/guacamole is my kryptonite!
