When I hit 35 I started to feel middle aged. I’m not enjoying it.
Old is more of a state of health than a number. I’ve known 70 year olds in great health and 40 year olds in shit health.
I’d say when your health becomes so bad you are in chronic pain, you have to give up a lot of activities, you have no stamina, you are always on the brink of a serious illness or injury and it can’t be corrected with medicine or lifestyle changes, then you are old.
I know a guy who is 54 and he is ‘older’ because of his health than some people in their 60s I know.

Lovely day in the irk-place today…we have refurbishments going on at the moment. This morning we have drilling and hammering on all four floors, plus they’ve been using some very strong resin/glue so it’s extremely noxiously stinky as well. The builders are meant to be replacing the toilets throughout the building and putting in a couple of extra ones, making a total of ten toilets (they’re all single-cubicle or large disabled ones). For some reason, they have only done nine of them and have completely missed out one of the fourth floor toilets so they’re having to catch up on that one. It was on the plans, they just didn’t bother to do it.
Ho hum. Hometime, anyone?
Yellow jacket sting update: My right hand is still slightly swollen and stiff. The other spots itch a bit. I found one of the dead little bastards on the bedroom floor - I guess it came out of the clothes that I tore off enroute to the shower. Definitely a waspy little yellow jacket bastard. We hates them we do!!!
We got rain overnight, and more is promised thru the day. I’m guessing there won’t be a pellet delivery today. Maybe I’ll take my sweetie to breakfast. One thing for sure - I’m avoiding a certain part of the yard.

I am, as BooFae would say, faffin’ about for a little bit this mornin’. I shall start my irkday in da Burg. I need to be there at eight and it takes all of fifteen minutes to get there from da cave. From thence I shall head over to part of the west forty. If’n I time it all right, I shall spend all day out “in the field” instead of the orifice.
Ok, I reckon I best consider gettin’ a move on.

I was all prepared to eat a sensible breakfast this morning in my new house. Then I remembered that I hadn’t brought a skillet, toaster, or microwave yet. (They’re on my list for today.) So, chocolate covered donuts for breakfast!!

It’s a damp chilly 63 degrees outside.
It should never be chilly in August. I wonder if w are going to have an early winter or if all the heat is going to hit us in September.
I’ve been afraid of looking at my electric bill. I finally got to see it yesterday and my electric bill went up @ 50 percent since running the AC. From $29 to $43. I can live with that. I was expecting something closer to $100.

I have a blocker app, and it sends the info to the same law firm that handled the collector calls I was getting.
I never got any money but at least the calls stopped.
I thought I had blocked the calls from the previous day but I guess I hit the wrong button. Spinnaker Resorts called me again yesterday from the same number. I didn’t pick it up and then blocked it. I wonder if it is spoofed, because if not I have the guys name and address. Then they called me again from a different number.
I have to take my phone in to get it fixed. I hope it can be fixed rather than replaced.

Off at 1100 today to Nashville, catch a plane to Cleveland, and join in on the 50th Anniversary of HS Soccer at my old school (I played ‘bench strength’ 1968-71). Some imbibing may be involved. Then back home on Sunday. Huh; taking the one airline that doesn’t charge for baggage (Southwest) and all I have is a carry-on…go figure.
If I make it in time, may go downtown and see the Cleveland Indians…haven’t been to a major-league game in a couple of years now.

BLURF At least it is Firday and my trusty companion is back at irk with me today. I have a huge pile of bills that need paying. I’m sure my vendors would appreciate being paid.
