Party at the ceemint pond! I made a chocolate cake! Also…
O God, our timees are in you hand: Look with favor, we pray, on your servant swampbear, as he beginss another year. Grant that he may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen his trust in your goodness all the days of his life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
I hope there were suitable shenanigans in the cee-mint pond to celebrate your descent into the realms of medicare
My weekend was relatively peaceful given the fact that I’d got very few things planned apart from trips to the gym. Errands were erranded, cooking was cooked, ironing was ironed. That’s about the sum total of it…spoke to mum and she’s doing ok, still not eating properly but she’s taking the best care of herself that she can.
Ripple had a pretty good time at the park this morning, now he is tired.
Red, I think I’d feel cramped in 560 sq feet, although it would depend on the layout.
I felt cramped when I lived in a 784 sq foot row house, but an ex lived in the same size trailer and it didn’t feel cramped. Probably because of all the windows.
It’s noisy outside, I wonder when the gas/water people will be done. It’s never ending it seems.
The only thing on the agenda is irk, and making tacos for my son and probably baking another ham for me.
Had an extra shift today at irk- only a short one though, and now I am done with irk for awhile! It’s near enough 3 weeks until I have to do anything sensible happy dance
The fact that I get to miss what is usually the worst day of the irk year is just a pleasant coincidence (huge messy group of teens, arriving today and staying nearly 2 weeks without cleaning up after themselves at all, and I don’t have to clean up after 'em).
My co-irker just came round and was introduced to the axolotls- I don’t think she’s impressed at my taste in pets, but she has the keys and they’re pretty simple to care for (she literally just needs to tip pre-portioned food in every 5 days), so it should be fine. I’m heading off Wednesday morning.
I really don’t mind the anvils; and yes: I have unloaded and palletized some over the years. What I hate more in terms of the heavy stuff are those stupid heavy duty “pusher” bumpers for trucks and ATVs (because they show up with us basically unboxed/unwrapped and the USPS refuses to handle them - after 5 years of this you think Seattle would have caught on by now) and dog food as I have mentioned before. And although it isn’t heavy ------ soy sauce. Don’t ask me just which brand but one had a great habit of the bottle breaking in shipping and I have had more than one blow apart and leak all over me. And soy milk. Do you have any idea what soy milk smells like after it has leaked, spoiled and baked in a 130 degree trailer for 12 hours? I do! Give me the anvils any day!
PS – Will be at Knoebels with the extended clan Friday. It would either be a great day to visit and be an honorary relative or ------- a really good day to stay north of 80 or south of Mt Carmel. Depending on your point of view.
PPS – Swampy - you could always get a room in Bear Gap. I know people there.
A bumper like that would look great on my truck and Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) CRV! The dogs are always hungry, and who doesn’t use soy sauce and milk?
Off I am to the Mother of Rivers!
I have been bled. I have breakfasted. I have painted for **FCD, **and I just ate an Amish peach.
The Dr office now opens at 7 instead of 7:30, and I didn’t know that, so I was 9th in line for blood draw. Luckily, the techs were fast and efficient. Unluckily, they call folks in by first name, and someone who shares mine leapt up and went in ahead of me, jumping like 5 turns!! The tech did apologize, so there’s that. All told, I sat there about an hour.
Not sure what the rest of my day holds. We shall see…
Morning all. Sorry I’m late to the party, slept until after 9am and then, wonder of wonders, immediately made myself presentable and did some errands. So, better late than never:
Happy Birthday Swampy!!
Now need to venture back out (87F already) for sustenance and supplies.
When I stopped at the grocery on the way home, I got some used round steaks. I found a recipe on line that sounds promising, so I’ve got supper started - it’ll simmer all afternoon, then be served over noodles. Near as I can tell, it’s a pseudo-stroganoff. No mushrooms, tho I may go get some and toss them in.
I’m feeling very low energy at the moment. The shooting last night occurred very close to where I used to live, and to where my parents lived for years. It shook me up.
