How old is old, or Relativitiy in the MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 95 for the day. In a little while I shall mosey on over to the church house to commence with the mowage of the back forty. We want to get this done this mornin’ needless to say. Also, I foresee some quality cee-mint pond this afternoon.

OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then I shall make myself presentable for the public.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Many years ago I spent a few weeks in Atlanta at the Ray Lewis trial with an anchor from my station. Our agreement was that we would work our shift, then he would choose a good restaurant, then he would drop me off and he would go do his thing (he was from Atlanta and we only had the one rental car).

One place was a Korean restaurant where we ordered a kimchi sampler tray. It was one of the most amazing culinary treats I have ever eaten! My mouth is watering while writing this.

Eons ago when my brother lived in what was still the Polish part of east Baltimore, he was talking to a couple of the little old Polish ladies who were his neighbors, and the subject of sauerkraut came up. One of the ladies, in her thick accent, said “Sauerkraut juice good for you. Clean you out like a vacuum!!!”

One of our family’s traditional Easter dishes is sliced Polish sausage in sauerkraut. The flavors are amazing together, especially because to prepare it, you take the kraut, squeeze out its liquid, then add some of the liquid that the sausage has been cooked in (this is fresh sausage, not smoked.) You also throw in some onion, heat it all up, then add the slices of sausage and heat it thru. Truly a dish of the gods!!!

Good morning! We actually slept in till nearly 6:30, except for the part where Taz got into the room because someone didn’t lock the door last night. After his catness got his drink, I tossed him out, and we snoozed some more. Great way to start the day. Then I got up and made french toast using a half loaf of Italian bread I got at Food Lion the other day, and half-n-half, vanilla, and cinnamon whisked in the eggs. Very yum!!

There’s a load of clothes in the washer, a load of dishes in the dishwasher, and until one or the other is done, I have time to surf. All before 8AM! Today is finish-assembling-the-motorcycle day. Onward!!

Happy Saturday!

Pickle Pops are great for endurance athletes in need of some salt (but a little hard to get down if they’re liquid).

Okay, shoes & travel mug then I’m off.

Happy Saturday!

It’s a cool 63 degrees outside. I can’t believe how cool it is for August.

Nothing special to do today.

Up, caffeinated, off today. I got meetings today.

Cats, I like saurkraut.

As do I, however one spells it.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) will eat it right out of the jar, which I thing s taking it too far by half.

FIL (v.3.0) who served in Korea agreed. There is also something about buried chicken eggs. :dubious:

I got up too late to have breakfast so I’m waiting for lunch.

I’m preparing to make some sheet music arrangements so I’m collecting sheet music online.

Howdy Y’all! Mowage of the back forty is completed. Also, I have had a shower, N.O.L., and made a sallit and hashbrown casserole for tonight’s dindin. JDD and Partner have arrived with steaks to complete tonight’s commestibles. Now it’s cee-mint pond time!

Laterz!

**FCD **is napping. Dunno if the bike will be moved today or not. He hasn’t been sleeping well, and I think that might have a little to do with some of the problems he’s been having with reassembling the bike. I told him to sleep, so he’s sleeping.

The sun is out, and with luck, I can bring in the laundry in an hour or so. The load of whites is done. The dishwasher has been emptied. I think I’ll settle down in front of NCIS and do some afghaning for a bit.

Laundry is in. **FCD **is awake and futzing in his shop.

Back to crocheting and NCIS!

Futzing?

Messing around… doing this and that… whatever it is guys do in their workshops…

Cocktails and dinner time. I doubt there will be saurkraut or kimchee. :frowning:

Perhaps he is making kimchee.

I had to rethread the serger this afternoon due to a couple of threads snapping. It took almost two hours. I kept hearing my mom’s voice echoing in my mind as I painstakingly pulled the threads through their individual slots: **“Never ever unthread the serger.” **I kept running the test fabric through after each rethreading and wondering why it was all falling apart. I studied the diagram on the machine. I pulled up a more comprehensive instruction sheet online. Still, the threads did not lock as they should.

So I went to YouTube. Turns out the thread for the lower looper has to be pulled through the innards of the machine (the machine helpfully comes with a pair of tweezers for just this occasion) and then threaded through a hole in the *back *of the lower looper needle before being pulled through the *front *. The back hole is very hard to see. I had to point every lamp in the room on the machine before I could see it. And then I had to thread it.

The serger is threaded. Never shall it be unthreaded more.

(This is the first time the serger’s been used in oh, several years. I’m glad all it needed was rethreading.)

Time to have some ice cream, then recline. MWAH!!

Back from the two weeks of vacation. It was very nice. Today we left the shore early, drove to the Air & Space Museum at Dulles Airport, then drove them home, then I drove home. Eleven hours of driving and museum.

I R tired.

Hit the Gersthaus for some kraut and giant fishbowls of beer. You might even catch guys in lederhosen playing oompa music.

My grandmother(the PA Dutch woman with the Polish husband) always had a crock of kraut going on the counter. About the only way I liked it was when she’d rinse it and fry it up with apples, brown sugar and caraway seeds around the holidays.

The family reunion went well today. Dad’s doing well, Sis, her old man and the pups are almost back to Nashville to spend the night before heading back to Houston. I’ll be heading back tomorrow.
