How strange is it that I don't watch porn?

I’m a twenty year old guy, and I have never watched porn. I have never been tempted to, and the idea doesn’t appeal to me.

The only exceptions are pornographic pop-ups which I close within a couple of seconds.

I’m beginning to realize that most men my age watch porn. Do must guys period watch porn? What about women?

I’d say maybe 80% or more of men watch or have watched porn.

Do you not because of religious reasons? Or maybe some kind of sexual hangups?

If you don’t look at porn, how do you get pornographic pop-up ads? Porn may be easy to find on the Internet, but you still have to go looking for it. It doesn’t just pop its one-eyed head out and say hello.

I was thinking in the opposite direction. Maybe he doesn’t watch porn because he doesn’t need to.

OP?

I don’t think our genes let us have “enough.” It’s why men cheat, it’s why there are prostitutes, it’s why there’s porn. If he’s so sexually satisfied that he’s never even had the impulse to look at pornography, not even at age 12 or 13, the bar would have to be lower than for most.

Ever watch CSPAN or cable news? Politicians are screwing us and one another all the time, right there in front of god too.

Very; in answer to your question, it’s very strange. in my 44 years on the planet I’ve encountered very, very few guys who aren’t interested in porn or one sort or another.

Sexual imagery holds absolutely no interest for you? When you were 12-or so you had absolutely no interest in seeing pictures of boobies and such in those magazines that the older fellas had? Really?

What about sex itself? Does the idea of being with a woman (or a dude, if that’s your thing) sound interesting at all?

Even when I was a hardcore fundie Christian, I was also a teenager, so porno wasn’t beneath me.

Well, sometimes it was beneath me. Like, on the floor, spread out.

I remember when I was a boy, exploring in the woods how ‘special’ it felt to find discarded porn.

I once broke into a still-being-built house because the builders had left a copy of the Daily Sport with a particularly attractive woman on the front. I was VERY determined to get in there (but without breaking anything) I did manage to get in in the end.

Oh that takes me back. Back to when I had hormones.

I don’t have to watch porn to masturbate, if that’s what you mean.

One thing I’ve learned is that when it comes to sexual preferences, everyone is different and it’s probably best, IMHO, to not get too judgmental about it

I wasn’t interested in porn at age 20 either, but by around age 25 I had discovered it. I’m a late bloomer.

Maybe you’re just asexual?

(I’m asexual, and I’ve never had the slightest interest in dirty pictures. Although it may be different for women).

In any case, if you don’t like porn, there’s no need to look at it just because other people think it’s normal.

Maybe you’ve just got a really good imagination. Or you have yet to find something that you like, and got put off by what you’ve seen (or read) so far. Or maybe it’s just not your thing. If it ain’t broke…

I have a hard time even believing you.

Different strokes for different folks. Seriously. There’s a wide variety of interests, behaviors, and responses among normal people. One person’s particular experience is not going to be universal, especially in matters sexual.

What I meant was - you’re getting some.

And in case I need to be clearer - I meant that one possible interpretation of your lack of need to watch porn is that you have a girlfriend and are able to have sex pretty much whenever you want.
But, you have raised another question in my mind: If you are able to masturbate without porn, what are you thinking about while doing so? Is ‘material’ of any kind involved? (An anigif of Scarlett Johansson wearing a red dress and having her boob squeezed… for example)

ETA: If I think logically about this. Porn is a fairly recent phenomenon. The availability thereof even more recent. That considered I can quite believe in the possibility to ‘abstain’ from sexual gratification for very long periods of time. Heck - the more you don’t do it, the easier it gets to not do it… I’d imagine.

Frequent sex would be great, but…

Well, I occasionally use an image like that, but usually not. Just my imagination. I think about sex.

Sure, but when someone expresses a behavior so completely opposite of my entire experience of existence (such as the OP), I can’t even understand how they could be of the same species as me.

I have two theories – one, you never watch (modern) TV or movies and rarely play videogames or even use the internet. Most visual porn just seems fake and crude to you. Or the opposite – you’re so saturated with media violence and sex porn just doesn’t do it for you, so you’ve resorted to (egads) your brain.

Or neither.
