When we remodeled my daughter’s room a few years back we put in an IKEA loft bed.
Since then I have been up there several times for various reasons. Seems perfectly sturdy to me.
How is it with two people going at wild monkey sex? Frankly I don’t know. Any lady dopers want to volunteer?
Depends how wild and monkey-like you’re going to get. percussion, we had a wooden loft bed, which was probably originally from IKEA (looked something like this IKEA model).
It always felt a little wobbly - might have been better if we had attached it to the wall, as previous posters have said.
For sleepy gentle sex it was fine. For anything more energetic - I didn’t feel too confident that the bed wasn’t going to collapse, which tended to take my mind off the job at hand.
If you’re going to get a loft bed, make sure you get something good and sturdy. I don’t think the IKEA model that you’re looking at is going to enhance your sex life.
