How the #¤%& do I get Nero to stop ejecting automatically?

I just threw some things in the walland used a long string of expletives.

Why,oh,why do alotofsoftware insistof automatically ejecting the DVD tray on the computer, when they’re done. I’ve destroyed three trays over the last year. My den is quite cramped and when the tray comes out, my dog might come running and bump into it (ouch!) or my knee or whatever.

I’m using Nero6. I’ve checked all the settings, looked through the help file, searched for “eject” which came back with a very “useful” reply about this is “This opens the tray of the recorder you have selected for burning so that the medium can be removed and a new one inserted. This command is deactivated if you have selected the Image Recorder.” Yeah?

How do I disable this extremely annoying “feature”?

Try going to File then Preferences then Expert Features. There should be something there that lets you disable disc ejection after a burn.

Do not attempt this unless you are, in fact, an expert.

I SO misread that thread title…

Except - there are no expert settings.
Maybe it can’t be done.

Do you have the latest release?
According to that link, Changes from Nero 6.0.0.28 to 6.3.0.0
Release Date: 12-11-2003

There is an expert setting. Right now I have 5.5 on this machine, but my home machine uses 6 and I remember seeing it there as well.

In the Nero Express mode, click on “More” at the bottom of the screen.

Hit “Configure”

Then “Expert Features” and check on “Do not eject disc…”
