The only qualification needed is a hatred of terrorists, murderers, rapists, immigrants and Democrats.
Training doesn’t take long.
Anyone you kill will be immediately branded a ‘domestic terrorist’ and a GoFundMe will be set up for you:
8.10. the legal defense of financial and violent crimes, including those related to money laundering, murder, robbery, assault, battery, sex crimes or crimes against minors;
Unfortunately, I’m guessing yes, it’s only a crime if convicted. Otherwise, innocent people who are wrongfully accused of a crime could not use GoFundMe for their legal defense.
(Not referring to Ross, but genuinely innocent folks)
I read the TOS as saying exactly that. It specifically says it can’t be used for the ‘legal defense of [snip] murder’. If you’re defending yourself, you’re not convicted, you’re accused. I understand what you mean, but it kinda sounds like they trying to stay out of exactly this type of situation.
OTOH, if he does end up with this money, it should make the wrongful death suit (if there is one) more lucrative and easier to collect.
Having said that, I assume her family could set up a gofundme to fund their wrongful death suit. It’s still about murder, but her family isn’t defending themselves.
That actually makes more sense and is probably the reason it’s still up (I assume it’s still up). The TOS says “the legal defense of murder” but doesn’t speak to the defending yourself in the court of public opinion and I don’t think (but I’d have to look) that it says anything about whatever this situation is…people giving him money because he’s famous for killing someone. I suppose that does technically means that he wouldn’t be able to use the proceeds from that for his case, should there ever be one, but I have no idea how that would be enforced.
So Renee Good’s murderer has a GoFundMe account in excess of $1 million.
Charlie Kirk’s murderer has no GoFundMe account. But Charlie Kirk’s widow has more than $25 million from an insurance payout, the sale of her home, book royalties, and donations.
No, it’s if they are charged. If they’re charged with a violent crime, the campaign is shut down. That’s what happened to the Rittenhouse fundraiser.
The statement went on to say that once charges of violent crime were brought against Rittenhouse in 2020, the company removed any active fundraisers that were started for his legal defense in compliance with their Terms of Service.
The rule otherwise would be meaningless; you need a legal fund to try to win an acquittal, not after you are acquitted.
Ross hasn’t been charged with anything yet, almost surely won’t be charged with a federal crime, but might be charged with a state crime.
