How to best discuss new TV shows?

There are a few new TV shows. They may not be spectacular. But, they do interest me and I’d like to discuss them with others if there is any interest. So, I’d like to ask if a reasonable approach might be to start one new thread for each show and see if there is any interest. Alternatively, I suppose that I could start one new thread titled, “Recent New TV show” and list the shows in question to see if anyone is interested in discussing any of them.

Before starting any of these new threads, I thought the best way to go would be to make this post here and see if any of the mods had anything to say about how they’d like this to be handled. The following is a sample of some of these new shows. In this list, an IMDB rating of 7.0 or higher usually means a superior quality show - whereas lower than 7.0 usually means an inferior quality show.

There are several others but I just wanted to give you some idea of the higher quality new shows.

Just look in Cafe Society. At least a few of these shows already have their own threads.

Note that Awake ran one season and then was cancelled. Magic City ran two seasons before it was cancelled.

I’m very disappointed to hear about Awake. I really enjoyed that show and was looking forward to watching more of it. I never quite got into Magic City.

But what would you suggest I do if I find maybe half those shows I listed already have threads? Should I start a new thread for all of the other shows? I would guess it would be best to only start threads for those shows I wanted to discuss.

Unless someone has some better idea, I guess that is what I’ll do.

Best is start one thread for each show. Extremely popular shows (at least, among our board members, such as AGENTS OF SHIELD) tend to have one thread for each episode, to avoid spoilers (people don’t need to read about an episode they haven’t watched.) Comedy shows, like BIG BANG THEORY, even though greatly popular with our posters, tend to have only one thread for many episodes because there’s no “plot” to spoil.

Yes, just start threads for shows you want to discuss. :wink:

In the past, the best thing to do is start a thread for a show at the beginning of the season. Participation in that thread will dictate if you need to spin it off into a per episode basis or not.
