How to get rid of a fat neck?

I’ve recently lost a bit of weight - not a huge amount, but enough to feel better about myself and get into some clothes that I haven’t been able to wear for 3 years. My waist, chest, etc. are diminishing nicely, but I perceive that I’ve still got a fat neck and a bit of a surplus chin. Does anyone have any exercises/behavioural recommendations for removal of said neck obesity?

Nope, no one does. You can’t lose fat from any specific area of your body without losing it all over. And furthermore, the pattern in which you lose fat is genetically predertimined. There’s really not much you can do besides just losing weight all over. It sucks, but everyone has to deal with it, so it’s not like you’ve got it any worse than anyone else.

Damn. :frowning:

Thanks anyway!

Liposuction?

True, you won’t be the envy of all the guys in the pub, but it’ll work.

Yeah, it sucks, doesn’t it? I’ve got just a little bit of fat on my chin that hangs down, and I can’t wait until it goes away.

This question is more or less the one that brought me to the SMDB http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_088b.html

From what I’ve seen of that on TV, I’d end up with big indentations, horrific bruising, and holes in my neck that would let the beer out.

You can tighten the part that “hangs down” by doing neck excercises. I have a small chin, and the tiniest bit of excess fat makes me look like I have a double chin.

There’s 4 or 5 excercises that I do, but it would be hard to describe.

Do a google for “neck excercises” or “getting rid of a double chin”.

Liposuction ‘sucks’.
