My wife enjoys the cocktail Grasshopper but everytime we go out the various bartenders make it differently. Often it comes frozen like a frozen margarita, or sometimes it seems to be made with ice cream, also it often comes in a brandy glass with a separate tumbler with ice. On occasion I’ve watched the bartender mixing the drink and it seems that other than green creme de menthe they sometimes use white creme de menthe? and some other liquor. Any bartenders or Grasshopper lovers here? Is there a proper/traditional way to make this mixed drink?
Creme de Cacao is white, Creme de Menthe is green, and mmmm a grasshopper sounds so good.
I’ll ask my parents if they did anything special or out of the-
wah?
Oh. Never mind.
Equal parts white creme de cacao, green creme de menthe, and cream. Shake with ice and strain into a martini glass.
You can use brown creme de cacao in a pinch, but it gives it a weird muddy color.
