How to open PowerPoint Documents on my Mac

I have a mac mini. People sometimes send me powerpoint documents and I can’t open them. Usually my macs can translate documents from any format without my intervening in anyway.

I don’t want to buy powerpoint as I have no use for it otherwise.

What am I missing? Anyone else out there on a mac found a work around?

Thank you in advance for your kind considerations!

You can go here and download a free PowerPoint viewer for Macintosh from Microsoft. This will let you view PP files without having the program installed.

NeoOffice is an OSX version of OpenOffice, and should be able to open and edit powerpoint files.
