Posting this one for a friend who hasn’t gone over to Firefox.
Essentially, he can’t figure out how to get Explorer to remember a password on a site where he mistakenly told it not to remember a password before and needs to know how to get it to ask again.
I figure it’s in with the Internet Tools tab, but I can’t really help him over the phone since I’m on Firefox and have been for a while.
Usually, I’m doing everything I can to get people not to use this feature. If the computer is shared, they might as well write their passwords on the desk. A better option may be to delete all stored passwords from IE then start over using RoboForm.
They should be able to click on Tools, Internet Options, then click the Content tab, and then click Settings in the Autocomplete section. Select “User names and passwords on forms” and “Prompt me to save passwords” then OK your way out. That should cause IE to prompt about saving passwords again. No promises that this will work - like I said, the usual plan is to get people to stop using this feature as it’s pretty insecure.
He can switch to firefox and have all his bookmarks and home page carry over!
