How to reglue a loose crown

I need the help of the Straight Dope community…on Thursday I had a new crown temporarily glued (waiting for an irrated nerve to ‘quiet down’), but early this morning it came loose. Since that was Saturday morning here on the west coast of the good ol’ USA, I’ve got two nights to get through before I’ll be able to see the dentist.
I was able to re-insert it and it’s not terribly uncomfortable, but I’m worried about sleeping with a loose crown in my mouth. I really wouldn’t want to swallow it.
So…does anyone know a good way to temporarily fasten a loose crown? Since I live in a very rural area something that one keeps about the house would certainly be the most useful.
Many thanks, in advance, for any hints you might have!

Maybe try some denture cream like PollyGrip? I wouldn’t want you to put anything industrial in your mouth like superglue if thats what you are thinking…

I think I found the answer!

Thanks, guess I’ll cross my fingers and hope I make it through tonight, and go into town tomorrow. It’s already after 10pm here now.
Guess I should have worried sooner, but it seemed secure until dinner (maybe I should have skipped that…).
