How to remove/What is the rubber-sticky material on my new cookie sheets that...

was put there to make them stick together for packing as set of three “temporarily”?

This material is usually not quite so difficult to remove as I’m finding it on these sheets. A little bit of effort and it can be “rolled” off relatively easily. I’ve tried soap, then oil, to loosen it, but it it doesn’t help. Freeze the pans? I’ll try that next…

And what IS that stuff, anyway? It’s been around for about a decade or so…maybe longer. It’s like rubber cement that never really cements but is sticky enough for the moment.

Is it the offspring of Post-It Note glue?

Try Dissolve-it or Goo-gone.
