There is a curious sticky, clear, jelly like, but dry substance that is used in packaging. Mostly it is used as an adhesive between credit cards and the letter delivering it. Once you peel off the credit card one has to peel off the clear putty from the card. The amazing thing is that when you peel it off, the putty stretches, comes off in one piece and it doesn’t stain the card.
Does it have a name? Who makes this stuff? Can it be reused?
The stuff that holds on the covers of Reader’s Digest, yeah, I know the stuff.
BTW, Why in the hell doesn’t Reader’s Digest just print a regular cover like every other damn magazine?
Here’s a story. I just made Premier in United Airlines Mileage Plus program and they sent me a shiny new membership card. Of course I was eager to put it in the front of my wallet(an insight into my priorities) but it was stuck with that sh*it to a piece of cardboard. The cardboard came off easy enough but that sticky ass crap was cemented to the back of the card. It was definitely the same type of glue but this stuff was EVIL. I couldn’t just slide it back into my wallet with the residue lingering back there sticking to all my other cards and making my life a living hell. I finally managed to remove the majority of it after repeatedly sticking and removing a larger ball to the last little remnants. Oh God how I had wished it was the other kind that peels off with such ease that you can even play with it afterward.
It can be successfully reused as a huge fake booger. Crumple it up a bit, and press one end into the inside surface of your nostril. Walk around work with what looks a like a massive booger hanging down to your freakin’ chin, and see who says anything.
