How will you squander your milestone post?

#1000 will be my big meltdown. Expect a banning!

(Uh, not really.)

You know, I spent a lot of time internally debating what I should do with number #1,000, and then it flew by without me noticing. As will 2,000. Personally I’m doubtfully that I’ll ever hit 10,000 on this (or any other) board.

I’ve noticed each one of mine as it was coming up, and then blew right past them before I thought of it again.

What he said.

I actually posted a 5000th post post party but felt a little silly about it.

Post count just doesn’t matter a whole lot. I’ve seen some of the stupidest things ever posted to the SDMBN by members with high post counts and some of the wisest things ever said by low count Dopers or guests. Post count just shows how many times you posted. And that’s it. imho/ymmv/ianapcw

I’m pretty sure my 10,000th post was in the over 1k Trek thread, just for grins.

Whoa!

I just noticed my 2 year Dope anniversary just came and went.

I’m THIS many !!

Related question–are you tempted to stop after your milestone post, so you can go back and look at your nice round post count in all your earlier threads? If I do think of something profound to say for my 1,000th (unlikely), I’m not going to be in any hurry to spoil it by posting again.

Yup. The only purposefully-significant X000-post I ever made was 10K. The rate at which that thing fell from page 1 of SIMS was more’n enough to tell me not to try it again:)

Hitting 20K is going to take at least another year, 18 months at least, but at this point my post count simply isn’t something I revel in raising.
