Jarrad said he knew someone who spun a husky sweater. He said the short fibers are not easy to work with and that you can’t wear such a thing in the rain unless you are a fan of Ode a la Wet Dawg.
I found the shedding brush today (I knew it was here, just didn’t remember where I’d stashed it) and got handfuls of fur off him, but not enough because he’s begging for more.
I’m the one who hung my keys up because I knew I wasn’t safe to drive anymore. And…I really shouldn’t be whining about this anyhow. I will be driving again by this time next week, it’s not like poor nellie who probably will never be able to drive again.
I think a lot of my grumpiness is just impatience caused. I have a number of ways to get around, bus, hubs, friends, medical transport shuttles, uber, etc., I just don’t want to have to mess with it because I’m too bored to bother.
We did go to the capital and I waved my sign around for four hours. Hubs spent that time walking dogs and visiting the Hatfield distillery. He also did some toaster oven shopping but nothing came home with us.
Thanks for the recommendations for the Breville combo, I will look closer at that brand. I’ve always used our T/O more than our regular oven in the summer as well.
I did look at the reviews for the T/O’s with air fryers and they didn’t seem too impressed. We do have a nice big air fryer with a rotating cage for the best french fries ever, so we won’t be looking for that feature. Mostly I just want something basic and easy to clean.
That is happening even with transport easily available. I need to get better at asking for help when I need it cause I’m not going to get any younger.
We did pick this place because of the public transport system as well as the short distance to town, stores and doctors, the nice neighbors are a super bonus!
Today the FedEx guy showed up in a van and was afraid to pull into our driveway so he pulled up in front of our fence and blocked the driveway to bring our package to the door. Our UPS driver showed up and started HONKING his horn and making a big fuss about the van being in the driveway. The FedEx driver ran to van and pulled it forward enough for the UPS driver to back his big truck to our porch without hesitation. Then he got out and flipped the FedEx driver off.
I really never thought that the delivery drivers had enough company loyalty to do that sort of thing so I’m guessing it was personal? (The UPS driver didn’t have a package for us, he just ran up and got a bottle of water out of the snack box and left again.)
I watched everything from my stitchin’ room while laughing my ever-expanding butt off.
You certainly do deserve a nap after all that. How’s Mrs Chefguy’s vertigo doing? Better I hope cause gardening involves a lot of bending over.
Emptying our freezers were the hardest part of moving for me. I had spent so long building up a good supply of home cooked meals and freshly blanched veggies. I was able to give it all away, but it really hurt my heart.
Plus, I didn’t know how food insecure I would be with an empty upright freezer. I’ve never missed a meal due to lack of money and we have a comfortable retirement income.
Of course, now that our food chain has been destroyed, my insecurities make sense, but they didn’t a year ago.
Our first home had carpet. Avocado green shag carpet that had been there for twenty years. I wanted to pull it up and replace it with laminate room by room as we had money and time. That plan lasted until we pulled up the first corner and saw what was under it.
That was the last time we had carpets and it also broke my habit of walking barefoot in hotel rooms.
Laminate and vinyl have come a long way over the years, I hope your new landlords feel the same way.
I understand that feeling. Hubs has been my driver for thirty years, it always feels strange to have him in the passenger seat.
I hope MM is feeling better today.
