Since the Barrymore thread turned into it anyway, let’s discuss the two.
Whose style of comedy is less offensive? Who leaves a longer-lasting bad taste in our mouths? Why is one more excusable than the other? Who goes too far?
Howard Stern vs Tom Green

I never really got into Tom Green, but Stern cracks me up. Maybe I fall into the same “mean asshole” category as Stern does, but he does more than insult and ridicule people. He actually makes a lot of sense sometimes, IMHO.
I guess it’s just a matter of fart jokes and lesbians vs. ice sculptures of your parents having anal sex and poop-on-a-microphone gags.

I think that leaves too great a possibility that one of them will live.
They’re both interesting to me in their own way. Generally the people Stern dumps on deserve what they get, and although I’ve never been able to get into his radio show, I watch the E! show sometimes. His shtick gets tiresome at times I must say. Green fascinates me. It’s like watching a train wreck. When he was on SNL it was just bizarre. I wasn’t laughing, but I couldn’t look away, then I laughed, just because of that. On the other hand, I won’t be picking up the Freddy Got Fingered DVD. Never seen it, have no plans to. Haven’t seen or read Private Parts either for that matter.
I think in a hundred years no one will give a shit either way.
Green would be far less annoying if people were allowed to give him beatings during his on the street interviews. But as he has about ten beefy bodyguards standing right out of camera shot, it ain’t gonna happen.
That’s cheating.
One is a jerk and the other is like a dog humping your leg.
I count my blessings daily that I don’t know either of them.
But with Howard I can work into a nice good righteous rage and feel good about myself. With Green I just feel dirty.
I can think of only one comedian in this genra that I find funny that would be Spaceghost. Now he’s mean and rude to his guests when he notices them, but he’s Spaceghost and what can you do.

IF you can’t, it’s basically Green and Barrymore being annoyed by someone on camera… they don’t take it well and get someone who works at the restaurant to keep the kid away from them. If people say “well they are at dinner” PLEASE DON’T! If you know Green, you’ll know that he can strike at anywhere. If you say "well Green did it for " please don't. He did cable access doing this shit, and even if was involved, it doesn’t make it any more right.
