How's your football team doing?

The good news is we’re coming up on Week 15 and my Ottawa Renegades have yet to lose a game.

The bad news is, the team went bankrupt this spring and doesn’t exist anymore. :frowning:

My Bills are doing pretty well and looking like a potential surprise team so fra. They should have won their first game of the season - they lead for most of it and lost on a late safety. That’s bad, but then again, I don’t think a lot of people expected them to compete against New England in the first place. They beat Miami pretty convincingly this past week, and Miami is supposed to be good.

The Patriots are 2-0 but had more difficulty beating those two teams than they probably should have. Tom Brady needs to snap out of his Deion Branch-less funk and start completing passes to the receivers he does have because there are a lot of NFL teams that could beat them the way the played Sunday.

On the upside the running game looks to be awesome and the defense finally came up with the big play when they needed it. Gotskowski had one FG blocked but Vinatieri apparently is injured so maybe the way things turned out there isn’t so bad after all.

UK: 2-1 by the grace of God, I guess. Wins over 1-AA Texas State and Ole Miss, and a thorough drubbing by Louisville.

Remaining wins on the schedule: Mississppi State(?), Central Michigan(?), Vanderbilt(?), Louisiana-Monroe.

Remaining losses: Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina.

The Bengals, on the other hand, are kicking ass and taking names.

Nebraska lost to USC 28-10. Not too surprising, since they’re far more talented and the game was in LA. It’s just the way we lost. We didn’t even try; barely any passes with our newfangled West Coast Offense. It was like the coach thought, “It’s okay to lose, I just don’t want to get blown out”.

With our history (3 national championships when I went there from 94-97), we shouldn’t be playing like this.

waves her New Orleans Saints flag proudly

We’re 2-0! Granted, being a Saints fan I don’t expect that to last, but for now we’re undefeated!

My LSU Tigers are doing all right, though that Auburn game was a heartbreaker.

Why yes, I’m from Baton Rouge originally, can you tell?

Hey! We scored 21 points this past weekend, it was even against a D-1 school! Things are looking up.

Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
Make every play clear the way to victory!
Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
Put up a fight with a might so fearlessly!
We’ll never forget the way you thrilled the nation,
With your T formation.
Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
And let them know why you’re wearing the crown.
You’re the pride and joy,
of all Illinois.
Chicago Bears, Bear Down!

Sorry…couldn’t help it, was at McGee’s all weekend.

There’s a guy in my fantasy league that has both Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson. And he was responsible for running the off-line draft. Not saying anything, just saying. :dubious:

And I need 46 points from the Steeler’s defense to win this week. What really sucks is that had I followed my heart for once and played Favre and the GB defense I would have walked away with the win. Against the Kitties I’m activating both as well as Driver. And I’m picking up Jennings.

What? Fantasy teams should count.

Me too, me too, and me too.

Actually my allegiances are (in order) Atlanta Falcons -> U of Memphis Tigers -> UGA Bulldogs. But the Falcons are, and always have been, the team I really care about.

Since they’re 2-0 and playing like kings, I’m feeling pretty good these days.

I am trying to keep my chin up for the Illini…I just don’t think this is their year.

It’s not their decade. I figure at least Simeon Rice hasn’t retired yet and it’s almost Basketball season.

The Auburn Tigers are 3-0 right now and lookin’ good for the SEC championship game in Atlanta.

This could be a magical year: Auburn could get to double-hump the Georgia Dulldawgs, once in Auburn and a second time in Atlanta. Though if I had my ‘druthers, I’d rather beat Florida twice, as I don’t care much for the Wallow-Gators. The Auburn/Georgia rivalry is more cordial; like a couple of cousins dukin’ it out at a family reunion.

University of Central Florida (the mighty Golden Knights): 1-2. And the win came against 1-AA Villanova. The losses? A 43-0 pasting by the Gators (but hey, we got paid nearly $1 million for it), and a 24-17 home loss to our biggest rivals, USF. Oh well, they’re both in BCS conferences, I guess. Good news is we lost all three nonconference games last season (not to mention EVERY game in '04) and still made the conference championship game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 0-2. Ugh. Welcome back, Suckaneers. Three points, against two teams that didn’t make the playoffs last year (and didn’t deserve to). It’s not that bad; the Falcons are going to run right over everyone this year, and once Jon “Chucky” Gruden realises that ordering a young quarterback with a younger offensive line to wing it every down is not a good idea our offense might actually work out.

Hey it’s Free This Year (my NFL.com fantasy team, following in the tradition of Fifteen Bucks Poorer, Thirty Bucks Poorer, and Forty Bucks Poorer, back when nfl.com fantasy signups were $15): 1-1, and looking like the second-best team in the league. My upside-based draft choices of Cadillac Williams (8th overall) and Willie Parker (17th) look like pretty bad picks now, but I have terrific talent everywhere else: Donovan McNabb, T.O. and Reggie Wayne, Antonio Gates…

I thought maybe, if Nebraska lost, I’d somehow feel better about the Buffs. I don’t. I can’t even call my turncoat son and rub his face in it (he was raised as a strict Golden Buffalo worshipper, then went to college at Chadron State and was converted to Huskerism.) This just sucks!
