HP 7960 Printer cartridge stuck--HELP!

Just now while printing out some of my posts I ran low on ink in one of the cartridges so I changed it. During the change I got the message on the printer screen “Cartridge service station is stuck. Press OK” Nothing happens. It’s hung. What should I do?

Doesn’t sound good

Have you cycled power a few times? What happens on start up. Grinding? Nothing?

During the hangup the idiot light beside the “ON” button flashed red constantly and THE “on” BUTTON would not respond, nor would the “OK” button.

I powered down my trusty T4155 eMachine but the HP 7960 stayed on, flashing red. I pulled its plug then replugged it and it cleared and printed the calibration page, per usual. Q.E.D. HP’s improving but still not idiotproof.

(And is that ink expensive! The only saving grace is that Office Depot gives a free ream of printer paper when you turn in an empty cartridge. I’m sitting on 12 reams as we “speak”-must have cost me a couple of hundred bucks in cartridge “deals”. And I won a case of 10 reams in a trivia contest a year ago.)

Dialed up the Board back up to THANK YOU, ASTRO.
