This is absolutely Pit worthy, but I am putting it here because I have come across so many dog lovers in this forum. I will not use any cuss words, although I am seething inside. Read the web site, hug your own dog, and I apologize in advance if I make you really angry at what you read.
The most depressing thing about this is that this thread is bound, absolutely bound to attract someone who will defend the actions of Frank Aquino.
I don’t have a dog, but I do have two cats I love very much. Hearing stories like this makes me want to cry. Poor Roxi, she was probably as much bewildered as in pain at what was happening to her. Poor dog.
Although I don’t agree with letting dogs run loose simply because of people like this, I wouldn’t like the chances of Mr. Kicker surviving the rest of the day uninjured and me staying out of jail. However, by god, it would sure as hell be worth it!
I admire the hell out of the Roxy’s owner, forgiveness would not be in my vocabulary.
I can’t fathom how somebody would think that kicking an animal is acceptable behavior*. I commend the guests that left because of it, and question the ones that didn’t. I would be interested in how he proceeds with the not guilty plea when there were numerous witnesses.
*except if the animal is attacking and a person is in danger
even then the thought makes me squrim
Yep, someone will be along shortly to say what a funny story it is; or the dog got what he deserved; or they would do the same thing or worse if some mangy old mutt ever walked into their yard.
That’s so sad. I wish I had the special power of bringing “justice” to those who harm animals. That’s inhuman to do that to an old, neighborhood dog.
Board rules prohibit me explaining in any kind of detail how I’d like to deal with this situation. However, it begins with:
- Buying a home next door to Mr. Aquino.
- Throwing a housewarming barbeque, with all of Mr. Aquino’s favorite foods cooking on the grill.
- Mr. Aquino coming over, uninvited, to welcome his new neighbors.
The rest is easily imaginable.
- Profit?
Obviously the dog shouldn’t have been in a neighbors garden, but what the neighbor did should result in him getting some jail time and a heavy fine.
I sincerely hope you’re not implying that I would say such a thing, because there’s an insanely huge difference between this situation and what Inca did. Frankly, if Hal Briston needed a witness for the time he was “having dinner” with the dog kicker, I’d be more than happy to provide him one, and loan him my shovel if he needed it (you know, to smother the coals of the fire).
I had to stop reading almost as soon as I clicked it. There is no punishment bad enough for that guy [del]except maybe have his throat ripped out[/del], but he will probably get probation and community service and all that shit
Tuckerfan, I did not mean it to mean anything about you. It is absolutely a different situation. (I still don’t agree with you in the other thread but that’s another thread.) Please don’t take my post here to have anything to do with you!
Oh, man.
If that dog were just a little bit smaller, it would look exactly like my dog (there seem to be a lot of German Shepard/Mutt mixes out there). I don’t have words to describe this…but my dog did just in fact get a nice belly rub and an extra treat.
I can’t stand stories of animal cruelty so I haven’t been able to click the link yet. That being said, I already have ideas as to what should happen to this man.
I sent an email to Justice DiCarlo and signed the online petition.
I also bookmarked the site to check back on August 11 after the next court date.
Mr. Aquino (and I use the term “mister” loosely) deserves 2 years in jail and a $5000 fine. What he did is so callous, so inhumane, so uncivilized that he deserves as much pain over as much time as possible. And even then it will not equal what Roxi felt, however briefly. Not to mention what the Sampson family is having to endure.
Frank Aquino is an asshole.
Boy, people suck.
Dogs are so good.
Just… That hurts my heart.
That is a very sad story. But getting your hackles up about what people might come into the thread and possibly say is pathetic. Wait till it happens instead of inviting it.
Cause this isn’t the kind of dog story anyone would find funny.
and
What pray tell, is the use of these asinine posts?
If someone does, indeed, come in and defend Aquino’s actions, then by all means telkl that person how you feel. But this sort of pre-emptive self-righteousness is stupid and unproductive.
I wanted to share an email I just recieved from Lisa Sampson, Roxi’s owner. Text follows:
Dear Bo,
Please forgive me for taking so long to reply to you. I have received a tremendous amount of e-mail from the website and I trying to respond to everyone. I really appreciate you writing to the Judge DiCarlo. I believe every voice can make a difference in this case. It will be a jury that decides Aquino’s guilt or innocence, but the Judge will hand out the penalty and it is important he know that people are not willing to tolerate this type of behavior. As an update, the court date has been postponed until 9/8, so we are still waiting to find out what is going to happen. I will update the website when I have some news. Unfortunately, the DA’s office is telling me anything either. They say it is an ongoing investigation and they do wish to publicize any info before the court hearing. Thank you once again for writing to the Judge and to me. I am grateful for your kind words and for caring. Take care,
Lisa
I will most likely update again after 8 September. I hope Judge Dicarlo throws the book at the jerk.
