Humans (TV show)

Here in the UK we have just had the second episode of a very superior sci-fi programme, Humans. It due to start in USA on 28th June, I believe.

It is set in the present day; the only difference is that we now have ‘synths’ - humanoid robots. They are designed to make our lives easier by being, for example, home helps, or working in brothels. Not very surprisingly, the tension arises because some of them start to go wrong.

It’s very thought provoking. The interaction between humans and synths is beautifully played out.

I keep meaning to watch it, but doesn’t it air against “Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell”? That’s what I’m hooked on at the moment (although I think next week is the last episode).

I’ll have to catch up with “Humans” online.

Yes, it does. I enjoyed the book, but the TV series just doesn’t do it for me - so it hasn’t been a hardship to watch Humans.
