Blah. I got stuck with a crap name. My full name means “bitter guide of Lincoln’s marsh.” I love looking up definitions/origins of words (I already knew what Cecil meant, BTW), but my parents were obviously oblivious to baby name books.

Apparently, my middle name means “Goddess of Canoe-Makers”. I can’t say I’ve heard that before… that was from this site. Thinksnow’s site says it means “weary”. Babynamer says the meaning has been lost. It could also mean “Maiden”, “Ruler”, or “From the Meadow of Favoured Grace”.

Hmmm…My first name, Megan, means “A Pearl” or “Great”. My middle name, Marie, means “A sea of bitterness” or “bitter”. And my last name, Duran, means “during” or “lasting”. Well, according to babynames.com, Jesse means “God exists” in Hebrew. I guess I’d better carefully consider what topics I do research on in the future, lest I accidentally discover the person who wrote the computer simulation that we’re in, or some old guy playing Skee-Ball by the waterfront in New Jersey.
This seems somewhat odd, though, as most other sources give the meaning as simply “wealthy”.
