I am a Princess.

ROSE: A flower name. Diminutives are Rosie, Rosey and Rosy.

Now that’s a shock.
Call me any variation of ‘Rosie’ and I’ll slap you.

Rose

Another Andrew checking in. I wonder what percentage of us “Manly Warriors” are flying the rainbow flag? That’s two, so far…

Mine means God-like(Michael)
hmmmmmmmm god-like…i like it…
hahahahahhahahahaha

ELVIRA: Spanish name of uncertain origin. May be Old German name meaning “true to all.”

Well I like it, could be worse.

Kitty

Blah. I got stuck with a crap name. My full name means “bitter guide of Lincoln’s marsh.” I love looking up definitions/origins of words (I already knew what Cecil meant, BTW), but my parents were obviously oblivious to baby name books. :frowning:

Mine is–“God is my judge”. I think. Kinda cool.

n. a statement that has no relevance to what has preceded it.

“English form of Latin name meaning “patrician.””

Whatever the Hell THAT means. I thought it was Irish for “nobleman” or “knight”.

Not that I’m any of those, mind you. I’m just a lonely boy . . .

My first and middle together turn out to be kinda cool. Everyone knows what Dawn means, but I just found out that my middle name derives from the Greek “selene”. So I’m Morning Sun and Moon, basically.

handy, is that you?

My first name means “gift of God” in Hebrew; my brother’s, Theodore, means the same in Greek.

My middle name means “western field,” originally a family name.

My last name means “son of Norway”.

Mine is pretty and grace!
Uhhh, yea, that’s right…

bwaaahaahaahhaahaahaahaa!

First name: Craig = dweller in the crag
middle name: Allan = handsome (ROFL!)

Oddly, Cameron came in second for a first name, and it means “bent nose.” Why in the world did they feel it necessary to have a name meaning that. OK, so my nose is bent…but so am I.

Wow.
The name site quoted by thinksnow lists the meaning of my name as “manly”. Most books and sites say it means “feminine” or “song of joy”.

Apparently, my middle name means “Goddess of Canoe-Makers”. I can’t say I’ve heard that before… that was from this site. Thinksnow’s site says it means “weary”. Babynamer says the meaning has been lost. It could also mean “Maiden”, “Ruler”, or “From the Meadow of Favoured Grace”.

Take your pick.

Sandra means “helper of mankind”. That’s quite a responsibility.

Hmmm…My first name, Megan, means “A Pearl” or “Great”. My middle name, Marie, means “A sea of bitterness” or “bitter”. And my last name, Duran, means “during” or “lasting”. So I guess my name is something like a great sea of lasting bitterness or a bitter lasting pearl (or something to that effect). Thanks, Mom and Dad!

Well, according to babynames.com, Jesse means “God exists” in Hebrew. I guess I’d better carefully consider what topics I do research on in the future, lest I accidentally discover the person who wrote the computer simulation that we’re in, or some old guy playing Skee-Ball by the waterfront in New Jersey.

This seems somewhat odd, though, as most other sources give the meaning as simply “wealthy”.

My full name, translated from several languages means roughly “Strong Ruler White Eagle”. Not bad.

Francesca. From France. I have no connection with France, just parents who liked the name. Call me Frankie and I’ll kill you.

My first name means ‘Strong Helmet’.

My middle name means ‘Defender of Men’.

My surname means ‘Keeper of Haystacks’.

I need a new surname.
