I am confused

I tried to ask this question in a thread and did not get an answer. I know that I am not supposed to cross-post, but I really want to know and no one answered.

Why is it that I see a banned user on one day, and the next day I see that the user has posted again? With banned underneath their username. I am sure that if someone is banned, there is a good reason for it. IRL, I deal with lots of really awful people who SHOULD be banned, and although I can’t do that, I understand the concept.

TRUST ME-I understand the concept. And I support it.

This is mostly a question of trying to understand what goes on here, as I am new. I would like to understand why I see banned people posting new responses. If they are banned, why do we have to be subjected to their new rants? If they have proven themselves unworthy to BE here, why are they still here?

I would like an answer, please.

Scotti,

Recently, a troll managed to re register with a very good imitation of a good posters name. The troll was banned, and the good user remains. That is probobly the source of the confusion. Read the thread titled “Osip” in the pit for more info.

Cheers!

Scotti,

Also, when someone is banned all previous posts by that person will read “BANNED.” Which means, of course, that there could have been several posts made after the one that you’re reading.

And it has happened that someone was mistakenly banned and then reinstated when the mistake was cleared up.

Thanks, guys.

It looked to me like new posts were made after discussions about the user being banned. I must have been confused.
