I paid my car off on Monday (16 months early). It wasn’t really anything exciting, given that I knew the date was coming
Yesterday, I received a bonus that I was expecting, but it was considerably more than I anticipated. So, I just used it to pay off my credit card debt.
Now that feels good!
I’ve had varying amounts of credit card debt since 2004, either because of unexpected auto repairs, school tuition or that ill advised vacation in 2005.
Well, I’m finally out of school, my car is running great and I’ve been socking money into savings instead of at my credit card (been paying about 5 times the minimum every month).
So now that damn thing is paid off! This really, really feels good!
I’ve managed to stay out of debt ever since I paid off my student loans nearly five years ago. I even bought my first car a few weeks ago with a bank draft, though that didn’t leave too much in my back account.
Right now, I have no credit card debt (well…other than what I’ve put on it since a week ago when I paid it off, as I usually do in full every month) and no car loan. Don’t own a home, so my only debt is student loans.
Awesome work. I just paid off all my credit cards (and posted about it here) about a month ago, and it DOES feel good. Wish I could say I was COMPLETELY out of debt like you can, because I still have a big car loan and like 40,000+ dollars in student loans still to pay off… sigh
Tripolar’s advice is hillarious. I had the urge to do JUST that when I paid off all my cards.
