Friends of mine are having a baby and looking for names. I headed over to http://www.babyzone.com to help out. While screwing around with the site I noticed the Perception Polls. People vote on what traits they think people with a certain name will have.
Needless to say, I had to check my own name out. My real name is Paul. Results?
In Appearance the big winner is Handsome with 27% of the votes.
In Personality the winner is Confident with 21% of the votes.
I did have to vote myself to get the results, but I did not choose the above (for the record, Cute and Funny).
I had to click on “Baby Names” in the left frame, search for my name and then scroll down to get to the Perception Poll (an FYI for other dopers who want to try this).
The big winners for my name are:
Beautiful (27%)
Confident (19%)
Very similar to the OP. It would be interesting to see more results to see if most names come out this way or if is just a coinkydink.
As a follow up, I voted on my husband’s name and his top 2 were Handsome (31%) and Confident (25%).
The name HAZEL came in with Exotic (20%) and Pretty (17%).
I have no idea what this means other than the fact that I am slacking really hard at work today.
I’m starting to wonder if all the Handsome/Beautiful and Confident results are what people are saying about themselves in order to see the poll results.
