I wouldn’t let it get you so upset , like you said the guy is young and this is his first baby. I know a woman that was strong and had a hard childbirth the third time around. The first two were easy , being strong does not mean the woman will always have an easy time.

I’m sorry, Skald. It’s just that I rarely see you complaining so I figured you were really, really pissed off. I’m glad I misread how angry you were and I’m glad this will resolve itself. Sometimes stress has an effect on people, but I’m sure he’ll be back in normal mode after she gives birth.

Your annoyance is more than justified. Saying his wife is awesome is fine, but criticizing other pregnant women’s inferiority is offensive. The fact that he has not and will not ever be pregnant himself but feels it is appropriate to judge other people’s character/pregnancies/the fictitious link he has invented between them makes him even more thoroughly deserving of a pie to the face.
Anyone who choses home birth is, at best, hopelessly uninformed, so it stands to reason that their spouse is as well.
(If you want your baby to survive you should not give birth at home.)
I have never done any of those three, but I totally agree with you on this one. Spectating these “sports” is NOT fun.
