It really, really is the OP typed “grape grape.” Start reading at the bottom right corner and go left, but with your head on grape grape, so it’s the top left going right. Never mind, that was probably more confusing. It’s the OP grape grape. Trust me.

I have been posting on several message boards for a long time now, and my posts are ALWAYS purple. The only exceptions are those boards with a colored background which doesn’t allow certain colors to be read when posted. Other than that, it’s pretty much an ingrained habit to colorize my posts before clicking Submit.

I don’t remember your names, but for those who called me a “grapist”, please try to remember that I wasn’t here when you had that person on board, and I don’t even know who it is! From what I understand, this “grapist” would quote other people’s posts and turn those purple, and I’m not doing that! I’m simply following one of my own traditions. On other boards, if I were to post in any color other than purple, people [COLOR=White]would think I was sick or something! It’s my thing, a signature of sorts. Can’t a girl like purple???

Let me ask you this: Would you rather see me posting in yellow?

It’s good and fine that you post in purple on other boards, but if you wish to be taken seriously by the majority of posters on this board, I hope you’ll choose not to exercise that particular habit here.

Silliness aside, I agree. I hate having to read non-black fonts on a message board…it’s just too distracting. A goofy thread like this is fun every once in a while, but if you post to a serious thread in a pink or buttercup font, it’s not going to go over very well.

And don’t get me started on changing font size. Good grief…I think we should make, say, size 4 the largest possible and lock off the bigger fonts.

Spongemom: This is a very special place. Many of our customs are in place because we find that they are conducive to the substantive discussion and debate that distinguish this board. Among those customs are using correct spelling and grammar, and posting in the default font and color.

You are free to post in purple, of course, but as you’ve found, your posts will likely be met with jokes or ignored. Your OP suggests that you are irked by this. Well, I’m not sure what you expect. You have been gently told that people find your purple postings annoying, yet you insist that you must “break up the monotony.” I don’t think the rest of us find it monotonous. It is rude to enter someone’s house and force your own customs on them.

Please consider posting in black. Nobody here cares that purple is your “trademark.” We only care what you have to say.
