I just went running in the pouring rain. Plus it is extremely windy. At least it’s not freezing cold out there. I just HAD to get out of the house and away from the damn computer. I did see one other runner, so at least I’m not the only crazy one, just part of a small select group.

A few years ago I did the Seattle-to-Portland bike ride. It rained cats and dogs the second day. At least I was under an awning at a gas station when the lightning started, but I was fixing my third flat tire of the day.

Hah you think thats out of your mind. I am a high school senior in the middle of the college application process. I have my school, and my parents breathing down my neck constantly. I have ever person I have ever met come up to me and ask where I’m apllying to. I swear if one more person asks me that question I’m going to rip their fucking head off. Hows that for being “officially out of my mind”. And I’m not even the worst you should see the people who have applied early and are wating for their acceptance letters. So no more of this petty whining.
Well it was freezing cold out there -40 windchill and I was out walking, I guess I must really be out of mine, eh, Geobabe.

TheGoat, you’re confusing being driven insane with willful insanity. You fall into the former category, while I firmly occupy the latter. I assure you, the two are quite different.
I think the line has become blurred. I would be happy to spend the rest of my life as a climbing bumb, but my school has instilled within me this need to go to college. No one in my grade is not applying somewhere. They expect you to go a good college, its not your choice they’ve taken that away. God high school sucks. All I want to do is go to a nice padded room somewhere.
So where are you applying to?

I’m so with you on this college apps crap. My mom is like you need to apply here also, cause they have lots of financial aid, and u need to apply here also becasue it’s a good backup…in all i’ve applied to 7 places…got accepted to the two that i most don’t want to go to…supposed to hear back from my #1 by the 20th of this month.
On top of that,I thought i was all on top of things and got them all in before Thanksgiving, and lo and behold, i get called down to the counselors office last week, saying that they lost my application to the University of Michigan, which is probably #2 or #3…i got soooooo pissed off.
I’m applying to almost all small private schools, except UofM and MSU (michigan) and they all cost like 20-30K a year,…cause my mom thinks that i won’t do good at a big school…it’s total hell. I sympathize with the others of u goin through this.
Yeah, I think that qualifies. I’ve gone running on cold days, though none quite THAT cold. I got these kick-ass insulated Pearl Izumi tights that I love love love so I plan to be out there whenever there isn’t snow on the ground. It was just the rain today that put it over the top for me, when I got back to the house soaked to the skin.
