I Am Only A Simple Caveman

I am only a simple caveman. I have been frozen in ice for thousands of years until recently - and I know little of your laws and customs and suchlike.

But I do know one thing.

Even I know that it is wrong to swear to follow democratic rules and norms, then try to incite violence because I did not win election a second time.

I know it’s not your point, but God that skit was so funny. The obvious joke would be to make the unfrozen caveman lawyer dumb and a fish out of water, and draw the humor from that. The way Phil Hartman plays him as a smart, smarmy, self-satisfied huckster manipulating the jury through cornpone analogies is brilliant.

Once you decide that hypocrisy is a legitimate political tool, being accused of it brings as much shame as being accused of having hazel eyes.

Don’t you hate it when that happens?

I am not that big a fan of SNL and haven’t really watched it for years, but I always thought Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer was a character of genius. The idea, which would probably work pretty well, still makes me chuckle decades later. There are a dozen or so similar things from that show that still make me chuckle, probably not more than that.

Since this is a reference to Saturday night live, I’ve moved it to cafe society.

Since this thread already started with a political bent, I will mention that I have long nurtured the theory that Tucker Carlson is actually a still-alive Phil Hartmann still doing his “Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer” shtick.

“I’m just a caveman! Your ‘normal demographic change’ frightens me! Now get me a double bourbon!”
