I am the queen of Double Dribble

I just beat my computer! And I must be the most pre-adolescent boy-stuck-in-a-grown-woman’s-body on Earth!

(Double Dribble is an old Nintendo game that simulates a basketball game. Don’t pretend you’ve never played it before. I know you still have that old Nintendo tucked away in the corner, next to a pair of MC Hammer parachute pants and Milli Vanilli album covers. As we say in Super Mario land, DOUBLE DRIBBLE!!)

[sub]I really really hope someone understands this post.[/sub]

Congrats! I know exactly what you’re talking about. We used to play all the time but I was never that good.

Even now, when I’m watching hoops on TV and someone is called for a double dribble, I automatically think of that computerized voice in my head saying “Double Dribble!”

That same digitised voice played in my head too…even though I usually played DD with the sound off, allowing for a truly Zen-like experience with the flashing lights of the TV screen.

My real addiction to low-tech basketball sims was with the arcade game Super Konami Basketball, in which you only played offense. “BLOCKING!

hmm, if I recall correctly it sounds a little more like “Rubble Ribble,” doesn’t it?

I am the King of Rubble Ribble. Who here says we should have an 8-bit nintendo conference and declare the true national champion!

Hoorah!
