I am thinking of starting a charity.... (knitting related)

I found through craftster.org a posting for Knit/crochet for charity interweave charitable knitting. and out of all the NICU, Domestic Abuse, Soldiers, Refugees for war and Katrina et all, there was only one for seniors: Member to Member.

Giving yarn & needles to nursing home patients who are still vital in that way so they can knit for other members, thus keeping them happily engaged and productive. All that talent sitting there going to waste is wrong on every level.
As my 79.5 year old mother volunteers at a nursing home not far from me on a semi-monthly basis, I thought I would start at this place as my test subjects.

I know I can scrounge around through friends, familys and salvation army for yarn and needles, and solict for goods as needed. (and probably hit up you dopers as well, cause that is the kinda gal I am.)
I luffs me some seniors.
What I need is a snappy name ( For the Geezers…) and any suggestions that anyone may have.
Thanks.

Knit Wits? Knit It Alls? Silver Needles? I Learned To Knit Before You Were Born, Sonny?

Sorry, I am not so good with names. I do have one tip, though–my sister used to get tons of yarn for my mom at yard sales.

GArage sale season is nearly over. I do have friends that will keep an eye out for me for stuff.

I like Silver Needles.

Sure, in Michigan. It is 73 degrees here today. I have no doubt that yard sales will continue for a while.

Sorry, just happy to be out of the frozen North. :stuck_out_tongue:

I like Silver Needles. What a beautiful idea! Who knows, maybe the ones who know how can teach the others.

I think Silver Needles is great, and this is also a great idea.

Another vote for Silver Needles, although I Learned to Knit Before You Were Born Sonny is a pretty close second
