Although I must say I sympathized with your frustration in the original thread. Being a linguistics major, I know what it’s like!! (“Oh, creoles don’t have any grammar.” “You have to teach babies to speak or their language will be degenerate.” “Black English hasn’t got any grammar.” “Sign language is just pantomime.” Etc, etc, etc…)
