I went about somethings in inappropriate ways. For that I am sorry. I don’t know what else to say but that I got carried away.
There are some who might understand my motivations, but this does not justify them.
How I did the things that I did was not appropriate.

I seem to be emotionally connected to the situation, so I’m wary of the possibility that I may have stepped over the line w/ some of my tactics. I’ll have to sleep on it before I can be sure.
Since I may be in error, I thought I should at least say that I’m sorry for whatever I can honestly think of that I might regret. All I can honestly say that I’m sorry for right now is some of the methods I chose.
A mod closed the GD thread that I opened hoping for L’s response, so I decided that the thread was most likely inappropriate.
I posted tangentially in a couple of threads. A hijack is a hijack- I have to take responsibilty for those actions.
I have probably fed his feelings of persecution- that wasn’t productive.
However, I don’t regret desiring to check facts for myself. If L hadn’t been so big on the value of “personal experience” and hadn’t incessantly cited his own web site, I probably wouldn’t’ve bothered to check his story about the USN and would’ve just assaulted the faulty analogy.
Well, there was the 4th of July snowfall in New Orleans. Couldn’t let that one go without comment.
If a bullshitter wants to get caught, I’d guess that the SDMB would be the place to come.
He got caught before you registered, SimonX. He just doesn’t want to admit that in this case he didn’t have an NDE, he’s totally dead. Credibility-wise, anyway.

Now he is claiming he was in for 8 years, but forgot that when he wrote his bio. Just like he forgot how SS radar and a CIC work. Fucking spare me. By doing a bit of searching it appears that this is a trend. I am surprised the Mods haven’t flushed him yet.
I’m not sure that he’s violated any of the rules.
At least his web site is getting traffic.
The one about not being a Jerk comes to mind- but I will leave that issue up to the Admins. For now it best just to ignore his B.S.- it seems clear to me that almost nobody is fooled by his posts anymore.
There are alot more interesting things to do around here then deal with that guy. Why give him the attention he craves? Sometimes the DTFTT people are right.

lekatt is a blight on these boards. He regularly strides into threads and unleashes his firehose of bullshit. Read the ouija-board thread; somebody offers him a detailed explanation of the ideomotor effect, and he comes back and says, “I don’t see how that applies.” Either he’s the stupidest person ever to sling a mouse, or he’s delusional, or he’s deliberately dishonest. In any case, he doesn’t deserve to share our virtual space.
The whole point of the Straight Dope is to fight ignorance. Not only does lekatt not fight ignorance, he snuggles up to it like it’s a hooker with a well-lubed strap-on.

Ok, I’ve seen a handful of Lekatt’s-an-ass threads flying around the Pit for the past couple of days. At first I didn’t recognize the name, so I just didn’t give a whit to even click on the thread(s).
Then after third and fourth ones popped up, I figured maybe I’ll see what all of this is about. I scanned some of the Pit posts, clicked on some of the linked threads, and scanned some of the posts from those just to see what all the hoopla was about.
He seemed a little dillusional, but nothing really jumped out at me to post anything in or around his direction, whether to discredit or flame.
But what has me curious now, is what he said, or what new piece of evidence has surfaced to call for an apology by SimonX?
