Yep, it’s true. Finally, lekattup and left. Or so he claims:
This “personal attack” was Czarcasm telling the publicly available truth about the dream lekatt interpreted to be a near death experience in spite of the fact that he wasn’t near death at the time.
lekatt continues:
This board currently has one thread with one post; lekatt’s. I suspect “honest moderation” means “removal of all posts that make any sense”, but that’s me, a suspicious bastard.
From what I saw of his posts, Lekatt only wanted to preach; didn’t, apparently, want to listen. Most of the “data” he advanced in support of his views on NDEs appears to be spurious. No added value, IMO.
Really? He was sort of hard to miss, especially if you spent any time in GD. He is pretty much a one-note-wonder, posting in any thread that had anything at all to do with the supernatural. His threshold of proof is basically “If I believe it, it must be true.” Kind of amusing, in an annoying sort of way.
You have 8400+ posts and don’t know lekatt? You must steer clear of Great Debates like it’s got the Black Plague.
There is that, of course. And then we’ll have another Eternal Question For Lekatt: “Didn’t you say you were leaving?”. However, I do think he was rather more than an annoyance with his repeated hijacks and constant need of correction lest impressive minds get the idea that there’s anything worthwhile in his ravings.
You know how sometimes when adults are carrying on a conversation, a kid will show up and say “Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom!”? And how the adults will attempt to ignore the kid and continue conversing? And how the most dangerous thing to do is ask the kid “What?”, because you know you’re in for an hour of watching lame cartwheels? That’s the kind of annoyance I’m talking about.
Unfortunately, new posters cannot tell that lekatt is a proverbial kid, and he doesn’t shout “Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom!” but “I have amazing absolutely true facts that I can show scientifically”. There’s a bit of difference.
Lekatt was the poster child for being stone deaf. How any one person could ignore the points of so many people is as mystifying as how one person could choose to singlemindedly defend and spread his views on a subject like near death experiences… especially to the point of having to butt into non-related threads to bring it up. I wonder what else could have been done with all that time and energy?
Well I know why I don’t venture there. It’s because I can read a GQ or a silly MPSIMS thread in 5 minutes, but I’m afraid of getting involved in a GD thread and spending an hour. (Good) GD threads just aren’t worth reading unless you stick with them.
Yes
So Lekatt had a bit of a thing about NDE’s.
So what? Lots of posters have irksome quirks. Libertarian occasionally goes mad. Elucidator accounts for fully 25% of the "thier"s posted in the last month.
That’s no reason to bait them endlessly, no excuse for being mean.
There is no excuse for that.
