The end of the “Ruse” scene:
Randal: “And I hope it feels good.”
Customer: “You hope what feels good?”
“I hope it feels so good to be right. There’s nothing more exhilerating than pointing out your superiority over others, is there?”
“I’m not renting here, anymore!”
“I’ll put you on the list.”
“Screw you!!”
“Hey, you’re not allowed to rent here, anymore!”
Jay: “Yeaaaaaaaah!!!”
“Screw me?”
“Any balls down there?”
“'Bout the biggest pair you’ve ever seen, dingleberry.”
“Duh-duh…duh-duh…salsa shark. Man goes into cage, cage goes into salsa, shark’s in the salsa; our shark.”
“People have to feel like they’re accomplishing something with their job. That’s why I manually masturbate animals for lab experiments.”
“Just what kind of convenience store do you run, here?”
The “Horny Old-man” scene:
“No, not this one, the one behind this one. They draw bigger titties in that one!”
From Clerks: The Animated Series:
“Can the mootaba virus kill the Grimace?”
“Nothing can kill the Grimace.”
And there’s actually one or two scenes in each movie that was censored on television. Probably the most famous example is the Flintstones/Schindler’s List parody.
My favorite part that hasn’t been mentioned yet is when they have just finished talking about the contractors on the death star, and the roofing contractor gives them the speech about how much one’s morals come in to play when accepting contracts, and how his friend died because he accepted a contract for a mobster’s roof.
God that’s hilarious. I love Mallrats too.
“You stupid little bastard! It’s not a schooner, it’s a sailboat!”
“A schooner is a sailboat, stupid!”
“You know what? There’s no easter bunny! That over there is just a guy in a suit!”
We used to have Clerks parties…everytime someone said they had never seen that movie, a bunch of us would get together and watch it. Half the fun was watching the newbie see it for the first time…
My friend works in a convenience store, but not a Quikstop.
Sometimes when i visit him i pop my head in and ask
“Do you sell hubcaps for a '72 Pinto hatchback?”
Cracks us up everytime.
Hehe…love the follow up to that line in the movie, too:
“Ooo, Mini-Truckin’ Magazine!”
And just in case any of you didn’t know about it, there’s a series of Kevin Smith Movie Drinking Games over at News Askew (it originally just housed the drinking games, then turned into the source for View Askew news). There’s the Clerks Drinking Game, of course. Haven’t ever played it, but I imagine you’d get pretty loopy pretty quickly by doing so.
Well, we seem to have lost the original exchange whereby I pointed hardygrrl in the general direction of Olaf Berserker shirts, so I shall post it again:
Has anyone here ordered from ViewAskew? I ordered my Animated Clerks lunchbox two weeks ago and was wondering how long I’d have to wait for it. They say 6-8 weeks for autographed stuff, but how long does it take for them to bubblewrap a non-autographed lunchbox and toss it in a box? Pout
PS…Go see Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. TOO CRAZY!
I’ve now seen Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back twice (had another friend that wanted to see it, and I went with him the second time). It’s great, IMHO. Then I checked out News Askew, today, and found out that those that went Friday & Saturday can send in their stubs for a free mini-poster. I’m in fan-boy heaven.
voguevixen, I’ve ordered stuff from View Askew, before; the View Askew Vulgarians hockey jersey and a Moobie the Golden Calf cap. I didn’t get them autographed, but I am in Canada, and they took a little while to get here (just over a month and a half, if I remember correctly). But I think it also depends on the time-frame in which you order the merch. Since there’s been so much buzz about the new movie, they’ve probably been flooded with orders. All of the orders are only filled by their comic book store, too, so they don’t have a huge staff to fill them.
You’ll probably get yours in another couple of weeks, if when I got mine is any comparison. I got mine just before Dogma came out.
Sweet, I was tempeted to get the Buddy Christ for my dashboard too, heh heh. Thanks for the heads-up on shipping. I figured they probably had their hands full with the new film.
