There is a brief description here.
A very slightly more informative press release here (pdf warning).
From what I understand it’s much like Christianity. You eat what you worship.

Don’t have time to read the links. Francis, John or Kevin?
Bacon is the one of the few foods I cannot get crazy over. I only like it with breakfast, or when used for a BLT, nothing more, and in small quantities.
I love festivals of any kind, I think to celebrate something a particular group loves is great. No matter what is, certain foods, flowers, movies, etc. Festivals are almost always a happy place with happy people.
Oscar Meyer, among others.
So do we get to have samples? I hope they get some from Lodi Sausage Kitchen. That stuff is like crack to me.
I’m sure there will be samples, and I even dream of free samples.
FYI, there is a Bakery called Lanes in Madison that sells a bacon longjohn.
To my eternal shame as a bacon lover, I misspelled Oscar Mayer!
Brat Fest not enough for ya, Madison?
I spit on your filthy brats! Brats are the Courtney Loves of luncheon meats!
We took our 2-year-old granddaughter to the brat fest last year. We had fun, though it was cold, and the brats were overcooked and kinda gross.
Ooooh, mmmmmm! November 1st… I may have to make the drive down to Madison this fall…
…and now I’m all hungry for bacon!
Go to Sheboygan for Bratwurst Days, July 31 thru August 2. There you’ll find decent brats. Too many crappy ones out there, even in Wisconsin.
I hope the baconfest will feature many combos of bacon with chocolate…
Oo ooh Lanes Bakery…continue on…
Love me some brats!
I get mine up in Hayward at a little butcher shop that makes them - VERY good. As for bacon and chocolate - I’ve done that. Taken crispy fried bacon and dunked it in melted dark chocolate. Place on wax paper to cool. Eat it all at once. Happiness overload. ![]()
